ask your uncle for the original restore disks that came with the computer. there is an option on them to reset your computer.

problems re installing software on a macbook
Alright so I bought a Macbook off a friend and I borrowed the Mac OS X install discs. This is what Ive done so far
1. inserted disc 1 clicked on "install Mac OS X and bundled software
2. then i click restart.
3. Then Im asked for a password to go along with the user name.
I dont have the password. What now?

alright so i got out the user guide
it said to restart the comp and hold down the C key. However after I choose english as the language I get an alert that pops up that says "this software cannot be installed on this computer". Sorry but im pretty computer illiterate

ok so I've done some searching. Is it that I have the OS X tiger install disk when I need the Leopard disk instead?

It sounds like you do not have the correct Tiger install CDs for the MacBook. The MacBook is an intel based Mac so you need the intel OS X install CDs.
If you don't have the proper CDs, go and buy OS X 10.5 Leopard. You can go to the Apple Store, Best Buy or any store that sells Macs and pick up the install CDs. It should cost $129.
If you just want to reset the admin password on the MacBook, insert the CD and boot holding down the C key so it boots from the CD. Go up to file or under utils there is an option to reset password. Reset the password to something you know then try running the install again.Muscle Asylum Project Athlete

hey thanks. Ya I ended up calling apple. I have 10.4.11 version on my computer now. But I have 10.4.6 disks. So Im going to try and call some buddies and see if I can find the 10.4.11 or 10.5 disks.
