While you're at the above site take a look all the other BIG grossers, and you'll notice none of them challenge this, not "Enchanted", nor "American Gangster", nor "Bee Movie", and that's with 5-8 weeks.

But anyone who thinks that I Am Legend is a great film has some serious thinking to do!!

It feels like somebody edited out an hours worth of movie...

Where are all the missing pieces?!?!

Who set the trap?? Why??

Are the mutants intelligent?? Socially devolved... I think not!!

Where is the clip of the family dying in the helicopter?? Do they die?!?!

How does she get out of the lab?? The lab would be dark so after teh explosion the mutants would be back to attack!!

Why didn't he get in there??

Why does he not realise the girl he is curing is the mutants mate?? Is she his mate??

I could have done a better job given the resources and I have VERY little experience in this area!! lol

THAT'S CALLED "INFERENCE", IN WHICH CERTAIN PARTS OF MOVIES ARE INFERRED OR IMPLIED. OFTEN FLASHBACKS DON'T GIVE YOU THE WHOLE PICTURE, ESPECIALLY IF THERE IN NIGHTMARISH FORM.

How does she get out of the lab??
ADMITTEDLY, THIS WAS UNCLEAR. BUT IT APPEARED AS IF THEY (THE WOMAN AND BOY) WERE SHIELDED FROM THE BLAST. WHICH IS WHY WILL PUT THEM IN THERE. THEY COULD EASILY HAVE WAITED UNTIL DAYBREAK AND LEFT.

THE GOAL AS ORCHESTRATED BY THE LEADER, WAS TO RETRIEVE THE PRISONER AND GET WILL. WITH ALL THREE PARTIES DEAD, WHAT REASON IS THERE FOR THE OTHERS TO GO BACK IN. SURELY THE WOMAN AND BOY WERE ALSO PRESUMED DEAD.

Why didn't he get in there??
COULDN'T FIT, AND IT WOULDN'T HAVE HELPED ANYWAY, BECAUSE HE WAS THE PRIME OBJECTIVE!

AGAIN, IT WAS A REMAKE, SO ALTHOUGH MINOR LIBERTIES ARE ACCEPTABLE, YOU CAN'T REWRITE THE SCRIPT.

(opinions are like assholes)well thats the good thing about opinions everybody has one an everybody,s stinks but ur own...if u saw the move i am legend is based after,u could apreciate it alot more.i thought it was a good movie but wasnt really impressed with the ending.

Yeah I agree it was a good movie but I wanted it to be great!!! :-(

The trailers promised everything as did interviews.... Although it's a remake there is such thing as poetic license and the script could have been improved or at least made whole!

I'm just SO glad I didn't go to the cinema to watch it coz I would have been pissed with it being just 1hr40mins long.....

Anyway.......

Hancock looks funny as hell so I'm really hoping (for me) that Will proves his worth again, like said above it's just an opinion

..... Maybe I just want too much! lol

I agree with everything Magic32 had as answers. I actually saw the movie yesterday. In one of the flashbacks they clearly show another helicopter about to hit the chopper containing his wife and kid.

Good catch, and this was not in the original (speaking of poetic license), and Kale is a true movie-goer, not that you aren't Jay (I don't know), I'm just legitimizing him here.

IT CAN'T EVEN BE DONE IN A VIRTUAL REMAKE WHICH THIS WAS AS EVIDENCED BY THE TITLE CHANGE AND UPGRADES. THE COPYWRITED SCRIPT (WHICH MAKES THE DIFFERENCE) MUST REMAIN IN TACT.

NOW IN SOMETHING LIKE SPIDERMAN SUCH PRIVILEGE APPLIES BECAUSE IT WASN'T A PROTECTED SCREENPLAY, AND ALSO HAD THE CREATOR'S (STAN LEE) OVERSIGHT AND PERMISSION. BUT EVEN HERE BASIC TENANTS COULD NOT BE CHANGED, E.G. PETER PARKER IS: SPIDERMAN; A SCIENCE GENIUS; SOCIALLY AKWARD; A PHOTOGRAPHER AT THE BUGLE; COMEDIC WHEN SPIDERMAN; IN LOVE W/MJ; BEST FRIENDS W/HARRY; HAS AN AUNT MAY; FIRST CAME TO LIGHT IN AN OPEN WRESTLING MATCH; LIVES BY "GREAT POWER" SPEECH; ETC.

HERE ARE EXAMPLES OF SOME LIBERTIES TAKEN:

THE SPIDER WAS ACCIDENTALLY ALTERED

I wasn't aware the script was under copyright so I guess that could explain a bit of it.....

Last films I thoroughly enjoyed.... Hmmmmm..... Dunno bout last films but some that come to mind:

The Departed
Ratatouille
Requiem For A Dream
Deja Vu
Miami Vice (Possibly just because of the Walli boat! lol)

I shall watch No Country For Old Men over the next few days..... It looks very promising!

Requiem For A Dream--PASSED
Deja Vu--BIG DENZEL FAN, AND LOVER OF TIME SPACE CONTINUUM MOVIES, SO I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT AS WELL...BUT WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT TO ONE WHO ISN'T FAMILIAR W/TIME-SPACE BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE CONFUSION.
Miami Vice (Possibly just because of the Walli boat! lol)--A FAN OF THE ORIGINAL AS WELL AS BOTH LEADS, AND AS YOU SAID THE BOAT & CARS, BUT A SUBPAR FILM.
