I still ride, but not as much. I have 2 R1's, one stock and one modified, and a FJ1200 drag bike. I had a ZX9 until I hit a Camry head on about 5 years ago, and dropped an R1 going about 120 almost 2 years ago. No leathers on, t shirt, jeans and tennis shoes. Full leathers hanging in my closet, was just being stupid. Live and learn.

i think the R1 loks better but i heard the GSXR just is better...maybe becuase more people own gsxrs..i dunno! i guess its all preference huh? see when i raced moto x all i ever had was Kawasaki. but i wouldnt get caught dead on a kawi sport bike! unless maybe the ZX14 but that too much for me!

Well, Id honestly go with the GSXR. My first bike was a Gixxer600 and was fun and comfortable as hell to ride. The R6's felt to squirlly as well as being real skinny where as the GSXR is a bit wider (to me anyways) But honetly for me I want to step up to the 750 becuase I like the style, looks, power to weight ratio, etc... I wanted something a bit bigger then a 600 (rode a 750 2 summers ago and loved it) and the GSXR750 was it. Honesly Id go with the GSXR1000 if I were you, R1 has got the syle but honesly i think GSXR has got the race heart in it IMO.

Really either would be a great bike, and I wouldn't count out the ZX10 either. Performance wise they would be close enough for it to depend on the rider. If I was going to choose I would go with the GSXR, but it's an easy choice for me since I already have 2 R1's.
As for the Warrior riding like a sport bike? Not. I love the Warrior, I rode one for a weekend and it has buckets of torque, but rides nothing like a sportbike on tight twisty roads. The one I rode weighed 640lbs, my R1 weighs 375lbs. We ride on a tight 7 mile private road here (where I crashed an R1 a couple years ago) and there are sections where you go from 160mph down to a 30mph hairpin and back up, the guys left me when I was riding the Warrior.Last edited by Big; 01-09-2008 at 06:30 PM.

Oh and the one feature I was looking at on a 08 GSXR1000 is you have a power cutter which you can use 1000cc, 750cc, or 600cc. I dont know how they do that but its kinda need for people who are not used to a 1000cc. And dont the new 08 R1 and R6 and the slipper clutch stock on it?
-

I used to think I wanted a slipper clutch till I rode a bike with one and almost flipped it. I'm used to backing off the throttle if the front end comes up to high and the compression sets it right back down, with the slipper it's different.

i've always been a yamaha fan....started out on a TTR-L 125, then raced for a couple years on a Yz125, i was decent but i never got real serious, too busy with football and baseball.....i'm not big enough for the 1000, so right now i'm seriously considering an r6, but from what i've concluded the Gixxers seem like top notch, i just don't really care for the single lamp in the front- too retro for me
