About half the torrents I download they want you to install some special player or some special tool to combine the files, I just delete those and move on. If you can't play it with Windows Media Player or Divx player, and if you can't join it with WinRar or WinZip, I'm not interested. Too much spyware out there.

You need all the volumes in the same dir to extract a movie with volumes.
I use to use torrents, I have moved onto something much much quicker and solid.

right click on first rar file and extract here using winrar. Then download nero 6.0 and up and play or burn to disc. Nero will decode the image and audio for you.

Kale is correct,
when you d/l a movie, it usually has around 30 .rar files you right click, & extract into the same folder/directory and it will give you the film.avi
you can usually play these in windows, but some need codex, what you can download is VLC & this will play them no probs

just get winrar to build the segmented files and get vlc media player ( best player arround hands down) it plays everthing and has top notch editing filters great if you know how to sync back up audio

Get WinRar and you will be fine. NEVER download "their" players and install them, 99% of the time they are either viruses or spyware.
If you play with torrents get a good anti-virus program.

like someone mentioned previously. use VLC media player for all your movie playing needs. it plays everything. the rest of the players out there are junk. Especially windows media player. Trust me, ive been using vlc since 2001.

imo i still prefer newsgroups to bit torrents any day. you get full speed dl's with newsgroups and no sharing needed. only bad thing is the servers the stuff is stored on is only so big. so data eventually gets overwritten with newer stuff. it's usually ok cause people will generally put it back up again at a later date.

http:// www. newzbin. com sign up with them and take a look around. use a program called newsleecher to read the files if you decide to get into it.

news groups are way much better then torrents. I used to use them all the time to dl high-def movies until my ISP turned off their free news-server. Should probably fork out the cash for the paid for news-servers.
also, a great torrent search engine is torrentz.com. I perferr to grab files from pirates bay or mininova since they usually have a good list of user comments.

A little heads up for downloading torrents. (for windows anyways)
Download Peer Guardian 2 and install it. It will "hide" your IP address. Some torrents are monitered by your Internet Provider (usually due to high volume of downloading and uploading) and some Government agencies. I've known a few people that have received a "cease and desist" letter. Just don't set it to block "http". You won't even be able to go online. =)

Dude its only a firewall that drops UDP TCP and ICMP packets your isp isnt going to be fooled by that... LOL their log files are still going to see huge bandwidth usage to your computer and be able to find the source..... Only good for stopping some viruses/spyware/malware.. worthless in hiding yourself, only a foreign proxy service would be any good in doing that....

For torrents use Vuze.
If you are downloading latest non-releases (still in movies) don't use Pirate Bay. It takes forever for them to get a movie.
Search first at isohunt, not through googles search bar.
They have the best/most recent movies.
Read the feedback on the torrent and you'll know whether or not to dl it.
When you are done go install the cracked Xilosoft DVD Creator.
Drag and drop the movie and just click burn, all done! This is how I always do my movies, my I use torrents mainly for vsts and music samples.

I havent had any problems with axxo's stuff you have to watch there is alot of axxo clone crap from jerks. But his most recent list is here axxo.superfundo.org it is a full list of his works. I have just got about 8 of his movies all in perfect awesome quality, I watch all of this on a 1080p 65 inch dlp, now I do not have it in hd but it still looks great and it sounds great on the stereo.

Axxo always has the best torrents. Kingben is ok for a decent cam version, but Axxo is the way to go for pre-release DVD rips.

You guys need to move up to the world of private trackers. Much quicker speeds, and real, uninfected, scene releases.
ie torrentbytes.net torrentleech.org scenetorrents.org etc
I prefer uTorrent for my torrent client. Others just seem to bloated for me.
