    Serious problem, need help

I picked up the flu a couple days ago, I've been battling it, feeling my worst today.
I was just made aware that my father, who has been fighting cancer for quite a while, is really on the way out, possibly within days. I spoke with him, and I would say that assessment is accurate.
I need to get up there and see him, but I have the flu. I say fvck my personal welfare, but I cannot risk spreading it, especially to a dying man.
What can I do? How do I kick this flu out of me as fast as possible, not be contagious, in time to visit before it's too late?
I went to the clinic, they took some blood, did some tests, and confirmed it is viral, not bacterial. If it was bacterial I'd be swallowing horse pills of antibiotics, but viral sickness has no such magic bullet. Need help.

I am very sorry to hear about your dad. Call his doctor and tell him the situation, you must see your dad ASAP, call him right now and tell him you love him and how much he means to you.

That is a tough situation, my heart goes out to you.

To knock it out... take Zicam, zinc, C, tons of water. If you have any inflammation, take ibuprofen. Get sleep, as much as you can.

I did, I am glad I got to. He can barely speak. He hasn't seen me in 2 years, so it's very important for me to get up there.

Thank you for the advice, I got those emergen-C packets with the zinc, C, and electrolytes. Trying to rest, I have the chills, and I am sweating all night. So awful.
