I seriously doubt his 06 Mazda has developed an exhaust leak already. It would actually shock me. A problem with the valve train would be more likely.

Hey guys, thanks again for everything. Took er in to the Mazda dealer today. They took a look at it and what do you know...of course it doesnt make the ****in ticking noise when the tech is looking at it or driving it.

BUT...the service manager came to talk to me and said it would most likely be the solenoid. And the reason it wasnt heard today is because I JUST filled it up with gas and that would only happen when Im getting closer to a 1/3 or under.

Any thoughts about that? Basically they checked the entire car over and there is no leaks no cracks or anything so it is 100% safe to drive but I have to wait till i use more gas and if I hear it again than they will fix the solenoid/bracket or something.

EVAP canister purge solenoid or they might call it a VMV for vapor management valve. Should be up by the air box. It vents vapors back into the engine. That might explain why it stopped doing it once the tank was full. I had a VW Corrado that the solenoid was so loud when I was driving it drove me crazy. Only did it when I was on the gas like a loud ticking. So I disconnected it. You can't get away with that on OBDII cars.

    Agree it could be.

Or you just had a few bad tanks of fuel.
