Barack Obama.....??
Though i'm still a huge supporter of Ron Paul, i feel as if i need to look into whose going to be running my country in the next few months...Anybody voting for barack, or voting against him- and why?...i read this on cbsnews.com and it reminded me a lot of why i started to support Paul in the first place. [His approach to politics, articulated in The Speech, is to look for common ground: "There's not a liberal America and a conservative America; there's the United States of America. ...The pundits like to slice and dice our country into red states and blue States… But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the blue states, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the red states…."] So if it comes down to it, i'll probably go Obama over clinton- even though she does make me feel more "comfortable" with the economy. I heard Chelsea Clinton talk today at Marquette University, and she did a brilliant job explaining her mothers universal health care plan. One thing i've worried is i don't know where Obama stands on a lot of the issues...

and your the voice of reason? makes me wonder why you would pick a name like that when you are not eludung to anything reasonable.
I think this election will come down to single issue voters, then we can only hope the election isnt a farse like when Jeb Bush sent his brother into office to screw up our country while Al Gore gets the Nobel peace prize!! LMAO
anyway, I will go Obama because polls show that hilary/mcain mcain has the edge...obama/mcain Obama has the edge. And we dont need someone in office who thinks being in Iraq for another 100 years is going to bode well for diplomacy and anti-amrican sentimant across the world. So my single issue is Iraq followed very very closely to the economy, both of which GWbush ruined. I believe Hillary lost me on her acceptance of the Iraq invasion and her willingness to stay even longer. She would be great for the econmy because I am feeling Bill back in the white house. But I gotta go with bringing my troops back home on this one. and no Im an independant not a liberal

I watched the California debate between Obama and Clinton. After hearing them both answer the questions the panel asked, I belive that Obama is the right person to lead our country for the next 4 years to follow.

Obama is passionate, motiviational, inspiring, and not an old fart. He is a fresh face with new ideas and I truly believe he would be great for this country and well as for our relationships with other counrties of the world. Bush's non-recognition policy is BS and with Obama we can kiss that shit goodby.
also:
He is NOT muslim, and never has been. he goes to a church of christ in Chicago
He salutes the flag,
he was NOT sworn in on the Koran.
He got his name from his father, who left him when he was 2. Its not his fault his dad was a dead beat. We all know dead beat dads dont we??
He is a proud American who has worked his ass off to get where he is today.
And there is a damn good chance he is gonna be our next president!!!!
Go Obama!!!!!!!

its nice to talk about all the nice stuff.
and as ron paul said again, it doesnt matter about democrat or republic, or women, or race, or gender.
We are given rights in our consitution as PEOPLE not men, women, blacks, whites, etc.
what should really matter is what one is willing to do for AMERICA.
ron paul could have 3 eyes and 6 fingers it wouldnt change anything.
also read up, years ago the people behind the federal reserve movement including the JP Morgan interests went and they bought up some 25 news papers and news networks responsible for controlling the news of this country. i wonder why a politician who doesn't like the IRS or the federal reserve or wasting money over seas doesn't get on tv or in our papers.
also look what muirlionninja posted and who is finacing the other candidates. not a single one sponsored ron paul.
"In March, 1915, the J.P. Morgan interests, the steel, shipbuilding, and powder interest, and their subsidiary organizations, got together 12 men high up in the newspaper world and employed them to select the most influential newspapers in the United States and sufficient number of them to control generally the policy of the daily press... They found it was only necessary to purchase the control of 25 of the greatest papers... An agreement was reached; the policy of the papers was bought, to be paid for by the month; an editor was furnished for each paper to properly supervise and edit information regarding the questions of preparedness, militarism, financial policies, and other things of national and international nature considered vital to the interests of the purchasers. — U.S. Congressman Oscar Callaway, 1917""

Many of the things he mentioned are impossible to do. He would probably be murdered by our own goverment. We could only fix one thing at a time, alot of people have great ideas for this country but don't have any followers.

He is for welfare systems, and taxing and all that stuff. as a Single guy in my mid 20's who make a good living..that does not nothing for me.
I'm voting McCain, hopefully lower taxes, means more left in my pocket to plan out my future.
No offense to single moms out there, and people with 6 kidz, or old people looking to get free healtcare from the democrats.. but sorry paying for you people don't make sense to me hehe
also more liberty and freedom of individuality and entrepreneurship.. instead of becoming the federalist party's cookie cutout of the average middle class 40 hour a week man.Last edited by Pooks; 02-13-2008 at 02:56 AM.

We're winning the war now, and to the victor go the spoils..
We were not involved in the middle east before, and it let to the crisis of 1979 ( i think, wasn't born yet hehe?)
when at will other nations cut the supply of oil to us.
We'll have a friendly government in Iraq to ensure that does not happen again.

Pooks...we are not winning the war by a long shot. what would make you think such a thing? you cant defeat a people that are willing and ready to die for a cause. the american mind set isnt anything like that. this war isnt about a winner and a loser.....

Ever since the surge (which i was doubtful about as well) I was very anti-war last summer... but the surge seems to have worked..
Casualties in our professional forces are way down. The different factions in Iraq are not battling each other anymore, but instead are working together against what remains of the Al-Quada in Iraq.
We've had Europe occupied since "liberation" in 1945, and they are not complaining... we can do the same with Iraq, now after "liberating" it, it is starting to come together.

it would be the biggest mistake to build a base in the middle east. thats just a place we DO NOT need to be in on a regular basis. those folks were fighting before America was founded and the will be fighting well after we are dead and gone. i was always taught that if it doesnt pertain to you then stay the hell out of it. we've been over there how long now?? and ya boy Bin Laden is still on the loose. thats what pisses me off. instead of finding Bin Ladens ass we went over there to fucc with Sadam.....who had nothing to do with 9/11!!!!

LMFAO, the surge is working we are winning? do you really believe this crap your president tells you bro, this has been a bloody year and is the surge going to be constant? because put yourself in this predicamant.............
the US gets invaded because our president is killing thousands of innocen tpeople (like saddam did as well and GWB is doing it know) now you have a foreign army in your country, neighborhood, hospitols etc, youll probably take up arms right? I would. When will it stop? when all of us die? or will our children learn to fight them away from their country as well, you cannot defeat insurgents of their own country period! maybe an island like aruba or something but not a country. you cannot outlast an insurgance by a countries people, it doesnt ever end, so i hope you understand that this "surge" has to last forever then until the iraqis are all gone.

02-13-2008, 10:12 AM #33
eh...
we wont be in there forever, we will start phasing out..
eventually just leaving a minimal force like the force in Germany, or Japan right now.
Iraqis have already started learning how to use us as an Advantage not a Disadvantage.
As long as we keep being their number 1 customer, when it comes to anything Iraq has to offer.. oil, n other stuff.. they'll be alright..
It would actually be foolish to get out of there hasty now.
plus you also have to be wary of Russian and Chinese interest in the Middle-east.
Right now we control the Seas, the Air, and vital spots all around the world, we've been doing this since 1945, virtually taking over after the collapse of the British Empire after ww2.. thats why we are who we are, and we are doing so good as a country, even now during a 'reccession'.Last edited by Pooks; 02-13-2008 at 10:15 AM.

i remember what Bush did when he first got into office....because i was in the air force at the time. within 1 month of him being in office he gave the entire armed forces a pay raise!! people were saying that GWB just might be a cool dude.....NOT!!! he was doing nothing but fattening us up for the kill. alot of us back then were suckered into reenlisting and all that shyt.....i wasnt fooled. i did my four years and got the hell out cause i knew what was coming. the Bush's are a family thats obsessed with WAR. i love living in this country but i would on die for this country under the right circumstances....ya feel me??

are you doing good in this recession? cause my business has reported its first revenue drop in 7 years and the customer base has increased by over 12% the past year, so how am I the american doing good? My health care premium just went up because, what do you know i got sick too many times last year (stupid me). as for what position we are in now controling the wrold pretty much, THAT IS WHY THEY DONT LIKE US, it isnt over shadowed by our thirst for oil bro trust me, Chinas demand alone is greater than ours not to mention Russias wilingness to get into some as well. The real "terrorists" would love to see America without oil/food/medicine etc, more than they want money..if it was money Osama woul stay home with his daddy and live off of his billions, rather he choses a friggin cave, so yeah Im not thinking he cares much about that.
