time for a big purchase!!.. help!
ok guys, im looking to purchase a nice luxurary sports sedan... after driving around a 67 chevelle SS and a 89 mustang LX 5.0 for a daily driver the first 5 years of driving, then leasing a new body style lexus GS... im kinda looking for a fast yet luxurious car.... as you can tell i love the speed and im looking to just pimp it in a big bodied luxurary car... so here are the choices.... (these aren't the exact cars just something for u to help wit the desicision)....
2002-2003 BMW M5...

... im just so in love wit this car now that ive had one, thats why im considering it again...

... even tho this car is cheaper, i feel that i could do alot wit this... honda performance parts are cheap and easy to come by... making it ideal to make alot of power with less money... also i am considering this car b/c of the fuel economy....

ok now my price range is about 40K-45K +- a couple Gs... and i will be buying the car instead of leasing or financing... the only thing im thinking here is the fact that the german cars (benz, BMW) parts will be very expensive in comparison to the acura and lexus... in addition i will be performing all repairs myself (i do this for a living, or used to, now im an air craft tech)... i am definatly performance driven here, i need the power as i have a happy go-go foot.... lol... let me know what you guys think... considering drivability, overall operating expenses (gas, self-repairs: parts basically, and insurance)... as well as availability and price of performace parts and overall fun factor here.... i just can't decide for myself... thanks guys!!.... any info would be appreciated....

Rock the benz. I love mercedes, not just to say I have one, but for the driving experience. You are right about the parts being expensive, and for an AMG it's the worst, trust me.. I love the E class,and have not had to many problems with mine, the only bad year with lots of problems was 2003. A used 04, 05 e500 is your best bet, and you can easily add some nice mods to it, and save some cash for service, parts,rims,etc !!!! Check out mbworld. o r g its a great site for benz drivers.

yea the link i gave is an 05 E AMG for 45K, i can go to 50K if i need to... i would get a cls but they are too expensive for the AMG model, its not like i can't afford it but i just don't wana spend that much on a car right now... and what kind of benz do you have and give some details like how much you pay for insurance, gas, and the fun factor here... thanks

i was also considering a cadi CTS-V or a brand new infinity G35 S- 4 door sedan...

Ahh, 50 k, now thats a different ball game. I will search on those boards for you and see who has what, around that price range, and yes the cls is hot but the AMG's are in the 60's. I have a 05 black on black e500, and an 05 silver cl65 amg,,thing is a beast. Retail was 170 grand, now they are going for like mid 70's. Sad how AMG's losses value. Gas is insane on the cl65amg, but for fun factor it blows any car off the road. 614hp that is modded to 690 . The e500 is great though 314 HP, nice smooth sedan ride, can't complain. There is something awkward about the M5, it looks fake or maybe used and abused.
Out of the choices, best overall investment Id go with Lexus.
Most reliable and cost efficient Id go with the Acura.
Both these make have low depreciation.
Nicest looking car out of the bunch would be E55 AMG.
Personally I prefer CL 55 AMG and a M3 or even a M6 or 650.

yea all those cars you personally prefer are nice, but remember i want a 4 door... so all ur choices are not for me... i also like the E55 and the lexus but the lexus doesn't have enough power for me... unless i modd the hell out of it... Originally Posted by Prada

For 50k I could not justify driving a car that is not a least the most current body style. So that puts the M5 out of the options unless you're talkin the new body which is 100g's...Anyway...50k is a nice price range and leaves a lot of options open. A friend of mine just bought the new Lexus LS460, and I really like that car, but I personally am into luxury, not going fast. The E55 AMG is definately your best bet, and I wont drive anything other than 4 doors. You can get 750i's and li's all day for 40-50g's, if thats what your into, but again the power might not be there for you... Really tough decision, good luck...

well ive been lookin for 2005 M5s now and can't find any online.. if i could find out price that would be great cause that is the newest body style and im kinda narrowing down the 3 to E55 amg, M5 (05 if i can find one), and the lexus gs...

thats an 06... there is nothin on cars.com.. ebay... or yahoo motors... im gonna look up the value in kelly blue book even tho these days the book isn't used much and the quote is on the high side... if i could find one i could narrow this search down from like 7 cars to 3... I would buy a used honda civic and bank the rest of the cash. Times suck right now and you never know what might happen.
Ok well maybe not a used civic but something nice but yet cheaper.

Do any have a warranty? The last thing you want is the transmission blowing on a E55 or M5. Personally Id stay away from the BMW, nice car but its old and you dont want to start dishing out money for repairs. IMO. I find Acuras the least "luxurious".

E55 AMG... if you want a great quality car, that rides amazingly, is stable and fast. Thing looks fantastic! Also, you can kick 03' Cobra's ass all day long...

I was at taco bell one day and there was a supra parked right outside. I first took a million pics then when the owner came out (real old guy prob in 50's) I asked if I can ride with him and he let me. Was the best day of my life even better then the first time I had sex which only lasted 1 minute..... I need to invent something that will make me rich
