I really need advice ASAP
I saw a bottle of Visine on the kitchen counter. My sons seem to think it makes their eyes whiter so what the heck I put it in my eye.
Immediately it starts to burn like hell. I expected maybe the saline solution that was probably in it burned a bit but the pain was shooting in my eye.
I begin to flush and flush with water for 5-10 min. I place a call to him to find out how the heck he can put that in his eye. He replied it's not visine it's CLENBUTEROL !!!!!!!!
Need I say anymore
It has been an hour and it is still feeling weird and tender by the tearduct. I hope to god none of you ever had this experience but do you think I should go to doc or just let tine heal it., (how do you tell a dr that you squirt clen in your eye anyway). Do you think flushing was enough and that it needs time to heal?
Many thanks

Is your eye losing weight?
I've never done that before. I would just suggest you keep flushing your eye out!

most dangerous chemicals will only be flushed out with water by medical professionals anyway... keep eyes open under water for 10-15 minutes straight.. don't power it put a good stream of water in eye, might need some help...
other than that it is not a problem telling doctor about the clen it is figuring out what other chemicals are used in that particular ingredient??? that is the kicker.

Sorry to hear about your accident .... you have flushed it ok now ... not much else to do but wait. If it makes you feel better see an opthamologist .... probably no need!!

You could call a dr...but you'll be fine. Your tear ducts will clean it out. Ive had much worse in eyes and i'm still 20/20

Thanks so much. My tear duct is sore I thought it would be ok but probably not until a good night sleep but I had to ask.
I put that incident on my top 10 things of what not to do again. Only my sons would put clen in a visine bottle. They continue to amaze me.

Keep an eye on it for any swelling, discharge, or severe inflammation. If your eye is tearing up a lot that is nothing to panic about, it's actually a good sign. Your eyes are very resilient, but if it becomes uncomfortable and you see other symptoms that I mentioned above, you really need to go in and see an Opthamologist. Keep flushing it out with clean, lukewarm water and try not to rub it at all.

you may want to get some tear free baby shampoo and clean your eye with it. I hear more and more about doctors perscribing this for eye infections and such.

not to hi jack but i was drunk one night and put some saline in my eye because i knew a friend wore contacts, well it lit my ass on fire for every bit of an hour i cried till i couldnt any more, come to find out red means bad, it had a red top on it and i started reading and it was hydrogen peroxide. its made for hard contacts to soak in over nights, major mistake!!!

Don't put any baby shampoo in it!! There are too many potential reactions/complications that could come from that so hold off on introducing anything else other than water. Just straight water, saline if you have it. If you went to the drugstore, you could get a couple of bottles of saline eye rinse and keep flushing it out. If not, use tap water and do it often.
If the pain and discomfort hasn't started to ease up yet, you need to start considering a trip to the Doctor or an ER if you are insured. Don't worry about explaining anything the the Doc/Nurse. Trust me, they are not gonna call the police on you for something like that. You aren't a danger to anyone else and your medical treatment does have a level of confidentiality. If no improvement by the a.m., I'd head in for a check-up.
