Wow, that was a bit disturbing... the thing that shocked me is how careless they were in digging this up... I don't know whre they received training, but it said volunteers?? I am assuming they weren't engineers...

i dont understand how those guys would have been stupid enough to try to dig the damn thing up. jesus.

02-27-2008, 09:54 PM #9
Wow thats horrible! I don't understand why anyone would be that careless with explosives!
-

That is why there should be no "Volunteers" for demolitions. I mean seriously, wtf? A 155 round?

made their bed how? Last time i checked the iraqis had posed no threat to the united states.
no wmds, no chemical weapons, no nukes. just an agressive US foreign policy bent on furthering an agenda.
Oh yeah...the US invaded their soverign nation to spread the 'miracle of democracy' my bad
but thats an entirely different argument alltogether.
hows the tren ?

no threat, what do you think they were digging up, that was for the americans, you must be 1 of those cant we all get along type of people, no threat wait until you have IRAQI women and children firing on you what do you do then?
you ever been to a yankees game? everyone has a yankees cap on even the women and children, well thats how it is the with all the iraqis with AK-47s
why do you think they were digging it up? lol. to help us. lol.
they were going to sell it to someone else that would of buried it alittle closer & smarter, thats what happens when you get greedy and dont have the right training gets you, like i said they made there beds now they can sleep in it. lol
luvin the tren

did you ever consider the fact that the only reason that it was in the ground was that iraq was INVADED by the united states and that to these people, they are having their entire belief systems thrown away for the sake of 'democracy'
i think you would fight an oppressive force if it landed on your home ground.
but then again, lots of you americans dont have the ability to look from other peoples perspectives.
sorry for the thread hijack

I will reiterate what I stated previously. Terrorism is a TACTIC, and not a label. We Americans have embraced this label to suit our own agendas. The King of Britain called the founding fathers of our country "terrorists" for their unorthodox fighting methods, and for rebelling against Britains imperialism. We called them freedom fighers. This is something to consider when you so easily label the 'insurgents' as terrorists. How exactly are they terrorizing? So far as I can tell, they are fighting a war. They are only targeting American soldiers who have invaded their country. They feel highly disrespected and are exacting revenge. My WILD GUESS, is that some of the 1,000,000 Iraqi civilians killed, well they might have actually had FAMILY MEMBERS, who are probably pretty pissed.
Our country leads the way in grade A hypocrisy. We have arrested people in Afghanistan for "war cimes" and for trying to "murder" American soldiers. This is ridiculous, they are combatants, therefore they cannot be tried for murder, their job is to kill the enemy, and in this case it is us.
It is quite a stretch to label insurgents as "terrorists." They have no standing Army, and they face an enemy with far more technology and man power than they have. This is called guerilla warfare, and it is extremely effective when you are fighting a much stronger enemy. We need only look back 50 or 60 years and realize that the North Vietnamese were excellent at this tactic and essentially beat us. If we were in their shoes, we would be doing the exact same thing. The truth is that Iraqis had absolutely nothing to do with the "terrorism" carried out in the United States. Thats been proven, its a fact, and we tend to ignore it, while we constantly search for reasons to justify our illegal war.
I was watching a documentary on the soldiers in Iraq the other day, and they were specifically speaking about the assault on Falluja, and one Marine stated that "It's unfortunate, but this is war, and civilians sometimes die in war, oh well." Well, Al-Qaeda has declared war on us, and they have killed civilians, thats what happens. However, we preferr to make up the rules as we go, and when they dont suit us we change them. We say that since Al-Qaeda isn't a country, they "cant" declare war on us.
I could go on forever, but perhaps we ought to start trying to look at things from more than ONE narrow minded, propagandized, mass media fed perspective. We would object to another country trying to meddle in our affairs here at home, just as the people of the middle east object to our interference in every aspect of their lives.

So these guys digging this thing up were "volunteers" the narrator said.
I think the guys in the chopper knew who these guys were? The offered to send a med evac? Why would they do that for 'enemies'?
Maybe they were distant allied 'iraqi' soldiers whom were volunteers?
And the chopper was just watching...
The guy said he could have called it.
You play with bull, you get the horns. next time throw a grenade form a distance, don't play with it.
That is weird though... those other people who were around... they were not survivors I don't think... but you never know!
Ps. To the guy who said his 'tren is kicking in', please don't blame AAS for your own actions. It gives AAS a bad name.

Well said dude. Cant wait for the Red Necks to come out of the wood work to repond to this !!! What amuses me is, when the Russians invaded Afghanistan, the US fully supported and armed the Taliban, now the shoe is on the other food, and the Taliban are now the worst Terrorists in the world. Does the word "hypocracy" mean anything to anyone ?

My guess would be that is the Iraqi National Army..
we've been training these guys..
but looks like they could some more training.
That sucks.. but it is good to de-mine a nation.
These mine's could be 20 years old, still left over from Hussein's war against Iran.
don't forget folks, Iraq was sort of a democracy in the 70s i believe..
and Hussein wasn't even elected a president he came to power thru a military coup..
or assasination of the actual elected Iraqi president I beleive.. this was around 1980..
Than pretty much right away he got his nation involved in a 10 year war.. MUCH MUCH bloodier war than the one today.
in which chemical weapons, and trenchwarfare was involved..
than when that finally ended
He decided to invade another neighbor kuwait in 1991
till we of course put a stop to him, and slapped on some hardcore sanctions on his ass..
In addition this is an event that seems to never be mentioned but..
in 1987 the U.S.S Stark became the victim of the only successful anti-ship missile attack on a U.S. Navy warship.
The ship was struck on May 17, 1987, by two Exocet antiship missiles fired from an Iraqi Mirage F1 fighter during the Iran-Iraq War.
37 Sailors were killed, and 21 Injured.
