I feel you bro, both my rotator cuffs are busted. For me I think the cause was my strength and muscle size increasing too quickly for my ligaments and tendons to adjust (courtesy of 2 years without gear, then straight of hitting a crazy cycle coupled with muscle memory).

1.5 years ago, i tore my left rotator cuff. About 2 years ago I changed from a casual gym member to getting serious about building muscle. Well when I started lifting harder the doc said that my body adjusted by building up calcium deposits on my bones. You could see the calcium buildups in the x-ray of both of my shoulders. Anyway the calcium wore away on my tendons like a butter knife over time. I was doing incline dumbell press when my left rotator cuff tore. I had to have reconstructive surgery, was in a shoulder imobilzer for 6 weeks and physical therapy for a long time. The shoulder is as good as new now just still not 100% as strong as my right, about 75-80%.
Good luck with your recovery, I hope the PT can get you back to normal.
