    Bikes

Well the weather is changing around me and Im planning on getting me a nice little toy for the summer. Let me know what bikes you guys have and what ones you would reccomend for a first time buyer. Im not looking to buy like a 8k bike. Just something decent for a first time rider. Thanks guys

ya, i saw that thread big, Difference is that i have never ridden a bike before. Therefore your bike with 8 exaust pipes and lcd screens is a lil muck. I aint got 10k to blow right now

The Gixxers are great bikes. Being that it's your first, I would recommend that you get one a few years old at a decent price while you get used to riding. Really any good 600cc sportbike is more than enough bike for a beginner, each brand has something out there that I like. The main thing is to be very careful, just because it's a smaller bike doesn't mean it can't hurt you in a hurry. I've been riding for 25 years and I've totalled two different sportbikes in the last 6 years (once in week 10 of a 12 week cycle, that sucked )

i have an 05 raven edition R6... i would never buy anything but a yamaha or a honda... they are made so much better then kawis and susukis... ive taken apart all 4 bikes and the precision, detail to perfection, and a much higher standard in production of individual parts makes a honda or yamaha that much more refined and solid as an overall product...

yes i do know about all the hype about the 600 and 1000 in the last couple model years, and 1400 zx10's.... but the thing is most people who buy bikes don't do the mods themselves or change their own tires, balance their own wheels or even change their own oil, so how could you possibly expect the average sportbike consumer to understand the intricicies of the manufacturing process... im not sayin you don't... and btw the 05 yamahas were state of the art at the time... so much money spent on R and D, totally different frame and specs, all my boys have bikes i do the work on all of them so i have first hand knowledge with all flavors.... ur intitled to ur opinion and i have mine... everybody likes their own brand so it's kind of biased... but i have owned everything but the kawi, but definatly have over 100 hours on one (my boys), and have worked on every sport bike out there including aprila and ducati and bmw which i have left out of this discussion due to price range... another thing is just because you put a better motor on a bike doesn't make it the complete package... most people who rave about the kawi's are talking about the performance, not the reliability or the construction...

oh absolutely... theres only one way i ride and that is knee dragging hard... thats what these machines are made for... it actually saddens me to watch some spazzes ride sport bikes, all over the road totally incompetent and no potential riding ability whatsoever...

I love it when they pull out from a stop and drag their feet until they are going 30mph, like they think the ground is going to just jump up and slap them.
