lap top dvd problem please help
just got a new dell inspiron 1525 lap top ,my problem is when i am playing a dvd it tends to fast forward for a couple of seconds (no fast forward icon come up)its like when the disc is dirty or somthink like that but it is doing it with all dvds ,really pissing me off ,any help would be great...i thought it might have somethink to do with the g/card...

dude hows that laptop. im thinkin about gettin one like that too wit 3 gig ram. comes out to 750 wit tax and shipping.

uninstall the driver in device manager for the dvd rom and then restart the computer. it will reinstall on startup.

I just bought a Dell and it is not worth the money. Hangs up all the time. The Sony Vaio I had was much better and far more stable.

honestly look into an hp
sonys' used to be really good but latley they have gone down hill.

all ive owned are HP's. never had problems. i had my old windows 98 desktop with a 400mhz processor until 2005. and for those of you that dont know,7 years is a long time for pcs.
currently running off a hp pavilion530n. 1 gig of ram and 200GB hard drive.amd athlon 64 2.1 ghz processor and has never failed me.
my sister has a hp laptop and she sais she loves it. she had a gateway before that and sais the HP KILLS it by far.

dude im a tech for pcs on sport fish boats and i use a Hp pavillion dv6000 and i love it my brother owns a website company and he runs a hp laptop as well and it works great and as far as you dvd problem call dell tech support if it is a new pc they should send a tech out and fix the problem for free if thats not the case i would use a differnt player and if that does not work update the drivers from dell.com !!

Hewlett Packard all the way. I've had several and all worked well.

my last one was a compaq and i never had nay problems wit it till where u plug in the cord for it to recharge has gotten worn out. i had the damn thing for 3.5 yrs so its time to get a new one. i'll look into hp
