uninstall the driver in device manager for the dvd rom and then restart the computer. it will reinstall on startup.

I just bought a Dell and it is not worth the money. Hangs up all the time. The Sony Vaio I had was much better and far more stable.

all ive owned are HP's. never had problems. i had my old windows 98 desktop with a 400mhz processor until 2005. and for those of you that dont know,7 years is a long time for pcs.

currently running off a hp pavilion530n. 1 gig of ram and 200GB hard drive.amd athlon 64 2.1 ghz processor and has never failed me.

my sister has a hp laptop and she sais she loves it. she had a gateway before that and sais the HP KILLS it by far.

dude im a tech for pcs on sport fish boats and i use a Hp pavillion dv6000 and i love it my brother owns a website company and he runs a hp laptop as well and it works great and as far as you dvd problem call dell tech support if it is a new pc they should send a tech out and fix the problem for free if thats not the case i would use a differnt player and if that does not work update the drivers from dell.com !!
