    ya know how many movies depict the crucifiction? a lot... ya know how many showed all the bloody gory shit? none. Personally, i just think it was a ploy to get all those crazy bible thumpers to give away their money, to watch a movie they have probably already watched a thousand times before. Just a money scheme, IMO.
    but as far as the movie, i haven't watched, nor have any desire to watch it, for the above mentioned reasons. IF i believed in it... i'd read the book, (the book is always better than the movie anyway, right?)

    passion of the christ was so awesome. that part..where jesus is getting beaten? **** that was so cool..then later, in that other part...when jesus is getting beaten? that was great too..then like an hour and a 1/2 into it, when i was totally on the edge of my seat wondering what could possibly happen next..jesus got beaten. me and my family are actually having a passion of the christ marathon this sunday if anyone wants to join us...jesus is gonna be dying all day, should be fun. oh snap did i just spoil the ending?
    sorry that was my excessive way of saying it sucked.

    bit ridiculous a film rly

    its a 'story' that we all know about, yet mel gibson makes out like jesus was tortured like no one before.

    he was treated like anyone else who committed a crime in those days, so what happened to him was no big deal when compared with anyone else who was crucified!

    typical religion crap to gte peoples emotions going, i just found it quite pathetic. think its a bit of a 'crap, christianity is going down, lets get peoples faith back up again' film- i felt more emotion at the end of American History X, that is a proper film!

    i totally agree..all fluff and no action. you know what should have happened? jean claud van damme should have played jesus' estranged/disgruntled brother, caught wind of his ciblings unjust beating/crucifiction, and scissor kicked every jew within a quarter mile of his tomb untill he got some answers.

    i agree that hollywood sucks, but thats the way the story goes man..haha ide say it would have been way more ridiculous to take liberties with a storyline from the bible and make it your own.

    actually, there is little if zero historic evidence for Christ ever physically existing, the earliest apologists for Christianity viewed Christ in the gnostic tradition in that he died and was resurrected on a different plane of existence, never here on Earth.

    I don't believe in God but I do believe a man, (yes a simple MAN, not the son of God) was crucified. However I thought it was a good film, quite poignant infact.

    I thought the film sucked balls.
    Im not religious at all and thought if i could over look the fact of the film being based on what i consider to be the bigest lie ever told i might actualy enjoy it....
    it failed big style. BraveHeart was much better, and its a true story too!
