I have got a few of those pitching never in the face though. It happens so fast you dont hurt for a little bit. I saw my best friend almost eat one, he had his glove up like your taught the ball hit his glove and stuck stuck in the webbing. Thats why aluminum bats should be outlawed in highschool and college.

I pitched a couple of summers in a wood bat league during my undergrad. The ball just does not come off those bats like aluminum. It was great because you didnt have to worry about a piss rod coming back at you as fast and if you missed a spot you didnt have to worry about the guy hitting it out of the park if he hit it off the end of the bat or the handle like with aluminum.

I really wasn't good enough to ever make it anywhere, I was just giving an excuse! I played til I was 21 in a wood bat league and it was much safer plus it took more talent. I only had two pitches that I could throw good and I'm right handed so there was no chance of me playing anywhere big since the day I was born!
