Thinking of getting car....I have no clue what to get.
So the time is getting close at hand where I can no longer bare to fill my truck up with gas. I am a die hard truck fan, but at 13 miles to the gallon I am thinking of getting a car. My problem is I dont know what to get. I want something that is still cool and fun, yet affordable. I am probably going to spend roughly 17 grand on it and want something fast and nice, but most important at 6'3" and soon to be 290 I need something I can fit in. Throw me some ideas guys.

a used audi a4.
1.8l engine, turboed, more than fast enough and good on gas.
case closed.

I drive a mercedes CLK, and i can really recommend one.
its like they float on the road. Put on some nice 19" rims
and your good to go. just make sure its ATLEAST a 320.

i just financed an 05 mustang gt about 3 months ago. lots of feet room but unless your 4 foot tall forget about the back seat. stock with 300hp at the fly naturally asparated. shaker 1000 stereo option sooo worth it. traction control is nice as well.
i paid 16,500 for mine with 29,000 miles.
put an exhaust,4.56 gears, tuner and intake and you can make an easy 350hp
mine just has tuner and intake, i play around with srt-4's and camaros . just raced a modded 07 G35 and had him up until around 70-80.
suspension is on the stiff side tho

This thread should be called "NightWolfs Avatar"
Btw, my choice would be a BMW 335i , but if you said the G35 was a little out of range then this would be also. But the 328i is also a great choice.

At 17 grand, you can buy something very nice. Now are you looking for a new vehicle? If not than get a car from a private seller that will get you a good deal. be sure to check your local craigslist and autotrader. Have you looked into a 1997-2003 bmw 5 series manual v8 that very fast but yet economical. I mean it's like i tell poeple "I can leave 50ft burnouts, carry two dogs, an bunch of groceries, still have space to bang your wife in the back seat" another nice one's are lexus 1998-2002 gs300 or gs400 those things are excellent on cost of maintain but are not fun. If you something sporty and big the bmw's are very nice. here's a link of one that I'm talking about.

sorry for the long post, i sell cars for a living lol... oh be sure to get the car inspected if private seller is involved. costs about 75 bucks. Good luck in your decision

As a major hater of VAG cars I need to disagree here. The money you save on gas will likely be spent fixing this car. In general unless you are buying new with a warranty avoid german money eatters. Ask me how I know my M3 is a bitch to keep fixing dumb shit on. In your price range look at japanese cars. I was always a big honda guy and never had a problem with them. I love BMWs but I wont buy another until I have enough money that I know there is no concern about fixing it everytime something goes wrong. Also I see a lot of these kinds of cars as I work on them for a living.

the funny thing is my hondas were turbo, hence the name t3/t4 GSR....t3/t4 turbo on a gsr motor. Even then with all that shit on them I still got 20mpg and it never had problems.

SRT-4's are in your price range, and are pretty quick too. Cheap to fix as well.

I really love the car bro. No problems whatsoever, mine is also a 2005. The only downside is all the costs just because its a Mercedes, for instance the service for it costs almost 3 times as much as the cheaper cars.
Then there is the insurance.. But they do have a very comfortble driving
feeling which im sure your gonna love.
