    Out of state health insurance does not cover ER?

    I just got a bill fot $700.. for my shingles ER trip..
    it says HEALTH INSURACE - OUT OF STATE..

    I got blue cross blue shield..

    THis is BS..

    what if I was married, and my wife was having a kid?
    She'd go to ER right.. have it delivered there I woudl think..

    what would that cost me like 10,000++ cause out of state health insurance does not cover ER trips?

    WTF..

    Dude chill out and submit the bill to your insurance company....

    Hmm yah I'll call them up i guess.. good idea..

    usually i think they just automatically take it out or something. dont remember.

    If waht u say is correct, than I'm glad I' ranted.. was bout to write the hospital the check.

    Yeah I would call them up and explain the situation, they probably just have to code something differently.

    I know for my BC/BS I have no co-pay, so they're supposed to give it to the insurance company, and then I pay what is left.

    Did you tell the ER you have no co-pay?

    Just submit the paperwork to the insurance company explain the situation, BC/BS is good.
