    Medical weightloss and BEER?

So there's this nice restaurant by me that I have a little deal with the head chef where I can get 2 grilled chicken breasts, cup of brown rice and grilled veggies for $7 if I sit in the lounge area and eat it during happy hour (4-7). He does this special for me and a few friends because he heard us bitching about how there weren't enough places to get exactly what we need/want for our diets.

So anyway, I go there yesterday and theres only one seat open in the lounge area next to a HUGE dude. By huge I mean fat. He must of been 500lbs, pounding beers, eating oysters and sashimi. I get my diet coke and order my meal. While I wait there I hear this huge dude talking about how he's on medical weightloss and has lost 22lbs in the last 2 weeks. I also here him say that he's allowed to drink beers and eat whatever he wants as long as it's not in excess. By this time he's probably shucked 15 oysters, 5-6 large tuna sashimi pieces, and since I've been there at least 4 pints. Do these "medical" weightloss places really allow people to "diet" like this? I wanted to say something and offer advice but I just kept my mouth shut because I'm sure it would go in one ear and out the other...I'm just frustrated if actual doctors are prescribing this kind of shat diet to people in need of something serious.

    /end rant

No, he probably just told his doc that he drinks sometimes. The Doc is not going to stop anyone from doing what they want, but will only offer advice. He probably knew this guy would not stop and thought maybe if he did not do it in excess it would be better. Of course the fat guy used this as a green light to drink what he wants.
But if he lost 20lbs in two weeks, imagine what his diet looked like last month!

15 oysters and some tuna sashimi seems like it should def be ok for him to eat.

The pints are a bit of a concern; however, it makes quite a large difference if he has 4 pints one day per week, or 4 pints per day
