    Crazy Tall Buildings

    Crazy Tall* Buildings. doh.

Probably a dull thread i do apologise. lol

Was helping a m8s son do some research on impressive buildings for his homework and was looking up worlds tallest buildings..

I thought things like the WTC were tall! Buildings that size will look TINY compared to some of the beasts they have planned!

    Excuse the poor diagram.

I know nothing of this type of design, minus discovery channel, but i would bet that these structures far surpass earthquake durability compared to most smaller structures

Yeah, they had to redesign the top of the Shanghai World Finance Center because the Japanese architect's use of a giant round open space at the top reminded the Chinese of the Hinomaru (Rising Sun Flag).

    Haha looks Phallic.

Well henceforth I have to presume that all the tallest buildings will be constructed in the mid-east and eastward. Mostly due to emerging economies or kingdoms that have nowehere better to invest money

    Very true.

And a lot of these countries are lucky enough to have there wealth at a time where technology and design ideas are at a very high level of advancment.

Places* like dubai are already amazing, but nothing of whats* yet to come.
History has natural cycles of most advanced* culture in respect to city building.. its there turn now.

So true. I know a guy who went to Dubai (Dad's friend who's loaded) and he said it's a big shit hole unless you have money.
