Gym headphones for iPod?
Gents,
Just broke down and bought a 2MG iPod shuffle (the teeny-tiny one). Couldn't stand gym's music anymore.
Question: What headphones give you good satisfaction?
I will be listening while using free-weights: squatting, benching, etc. as well as cardio. Also, I sweat a lot and have a big head.
Thanks,
BigLittleTim

Anything that wraps around the back of your head instead of the top seem to work the best for working out with.

walmart- black phillips that clip/wrap around the ear....8 bucks.....Best gym headphones I have ever had......I had spent, follishly, 50 bucks on the green senheisers that wrap around your ear as well, and they sucked, they were shaped awkward, and the plastic casing around the wire just eroded away or something, and I lost sound in one ear in one month.....The philips sound better than what you get with ipod ear buds, they are durable, they are cheap, they are perfect for working out....
whatever you do, dont spend much money on gym headphones, and expect them to last 2-4 months....with my experience anyway.

Philips headphones?
I've been searching on-line for the Philips ear clip buds, but no luck...
I found something similar on the Philips site. Let me see if I can attach it here.
I hate headphones too, but no alternative since gyms stopped playing actual hard-core workout music.

man, unbelievably, I checked myself online, and I for the life of me cant find them anywhere.....the ear clip itsself is a similar shape....but those look like in ear earbuds, im not sure you would want that for workouts........
check out these, they are extremely stable, comfortable, and tight fitting, these will not fall out
even though these are a different brand, they are alot more similar.....these are brookstone ones, and they are a perfect fit, much like the philips....only problem is, they are 30 bucks which is a huge huge rip off because they sound no better than philips, and I lost sound in one ear after a month....but anyways, this kind of design is the most secure and comfortable i have ever had for working out....I got black, and took a device and smashed off that central thing because it was surprizingly heavy. these more or less give you an idea what I am thinking of...very good shape, very stable

you can see the earbud itself........same guy, just white
as i have said, these are very similar to the philips, but this is the design I have found to be best, and i have been through to many earbudsLast edited by IronReload04; 05-01-2008 at 04:17 PM.

I have an iPhone and it is impossible to find any earphones that fit it since the moldeing limits most jacks. I had to get a gay adaptor just to plug in a pair of earphones. I hate the ear buds apple has since they always fall out of my ears.

I use these with my red Reebok sneakers.

I dont understand what in the hell the appeal is with the ipod like earbuds......not knocking ipod exactly, but the buds with the same design that ipod uses.....the ones that fall out of your ear........I think the idea is retarded, I dont understand how people can stand those things honest to god........The in ear buds actually stay in for me, and the ones in my link are really nice as well.....I dont see why people dont spend the 8 bucks to get better sounding ear buds that will actually stay in your ear and still look sleek, or why some people spend 200-400 dollars on an mp3 player, and use the shitty stock earbuds.....when they can spend 50-100 dollars on a good pair of in ear buds that will make your player sound night and day different......

now i use shure se110's (http://www.shure.com/PersonalAudio/P..._se110_content) they're the cheapo version, but check the website out - even their cheapo's ain't cheap. the in-ear thing really does block out all other sound - i love it.
my favourite headphones ever are the koss portapros - these have the best base response of a portable headphone that i've ever heard. i think you can only get them on ebay now.

Awesome headphones
Have been using the new Philips headphones in the gym and they are, without a doubt, the best I've ever owned!
Many thanks to all of you for your helpful suggestions.

Skull Candy ear phones are the best I've ever used hands down. I got them at Target for like $15. Well worth it! They fit directly in your ear like ear plugs, they have a nice base to them, and they drown out all the noise.

I've been using Shure E2c for a couple of years now. I think they have been replaced by the SE110 model.

Are there any small headphones that aren't ear buds? Buds tend not to work well for me and I don't wanna use my giant a-- disco headphones.

Regular earbud headphones allways seem to slip outa my ears. But then i found these that have a neet little rubber nib that fits comfortably in the ears. They're sleathy and cool. Don't be fooled by the low price. These headphones rock. $15.00
