    Brief recent movie reviews...

    • 21 - Much better than expected, and Kate Bosworth is great eye candy. Obviously not of interest to everyone, but if you're on the fence see it and you won't be disappointed.
    • Baby Mama - Humorous but not very funny.
    • Deception - Surprisingly quite good, could have gone a different way with the ending, but unpredictable and extremely well done.
    • Forgetting Sarah Marshall - Just as billed it's truly funny throughout...you get what you're expecting.
    • Prom Night - A true teen flick, decent though.
    • 88 Minutes - Surprisingly this was VERY GOOD, but what would you expect from Pacino? Although it looks like many other count down to death films, it really isn't.
    • Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay - More than a little crass, but also simply hilarious...this will be a comedy classic. As odd a couple as Felix Unger and Oscar Madison, their misadventures continue in even funnier fashion. And if you’re not in a hurry, stick around for the after the credits for the Marvel Comic-like last scene.
    • Forbidden Kingdom - As movie it's about a "C", but the kung fu and special effects are top notch.
    • Nim's Island - Good film, obviously kid-oriented but nicely adventurous.
    • Pathology - Dark and demented but very well done, if you liked the legendary "American Psycho", you'll love this...same basis but from the med student perspective.

Iron Man - Ahhhhh, the piece da resistance...ABSOLUTELY, INEXPLICABLY AND INDESCRIBABLY MARVELOUS (note the word play on Marvel Comics). This was stupendous from start to finish, nothing short of SPECTACULAR!!!

Caveat: Even though 'Iron Man' isn't the typical Marvel Comic movie because of the high acting caliber, one should still be a comics fan or at least an action movie fan. It doesn't have the complete stand-alone ability of 'Spiderman', which enlisted the aid of very relatable teenage trials, family values, and a genuine love story...consequently 'Iron Man' is not for every one, but it is visual joy!

Hey Magic,I'm downloading An American Crime with James Franco rite now cause I was bored and it's a new movie that slipped thru my downloading cracks have you seen it?

And where's your Street Kings Evaluation? That was my favorite movie of the year so far.

Not yet, I wait until the theatrical release, but after seeing the trailer I'm definitely looking forward to it along with "Speed" (come on fellas it was meant for kids, now the whole family and Wachowski Brother effects warrant watching?), "The Hulk", "Hancock", "Wanted", "Indy" and "Wolverine".

As for Street Kings, you're right it certainly should have been reviewed as follows...

    • Street Kings - This virtual spoof of "Training Day" was so boringly predictable that it was laughable. Then the strangest thing happens, as you enter the last 35+ minutes it pulls a 180 and closes exceptionally well. Unfortunately, you have to sit through the first two-thirds to get there. I recommend either waiting for the dvd (which won't be long at all), or timing it in such a way (along with approx. 15mins of trailers) that you only see the ending...and don't worry you won't have missed a thing!

Man I hate movies, I go to maybe 2 a year and fall asleep, but I went to Iron Man and saw the Batman and Indian Jones trailer and I thought, FINALLY A BREAK FROM THE CRAP!

    Iron Man was excellent.
