I don't know of any truly secure email address. Hushmail was a popular one, but they openly let the authorities view your email simply by requesting it. Every other "secure" email service does the same thing. They openly allow authorities to view any emails they request.

Keep in mind, all email you send and receive is not secure. If you are using Hushmail for example, and you send an email to a friend of yours. If they aren't using Hushmail also, the email you just send is not encrypted (secured) from the rest of the world. But if he was using Hushmail, it would provide a little bit of security.

The only way to truly do secure email is for both parties to encrypt and sign their emails. Most people don't know what this is, let alone use it.

dont' even bother, for a product to be in use in the USA, the decryption key to the software itself has to be given to the Gov..

there is a reason IE can't be shipped to man countries..

as long as you only access your yahoo/gmail/hotmail acct through a proxy (meaning your physical IP / Mac address is never revealed), and you never divulge personal info in public areas to link your addy to YOU, what more do you need?

Just keep in mind if the servers are in the US, the government requires by law for them to save copies of all for a certain amount of time. EVEN IF YOU DELETE THEM!

Haven't you ever wondered when certain cases go to court, often times they have complete correspondence from E-mails and text messages entered into evidence?

Whats not good about secure email accounts, is the technology that makes it secure, and who it was originally contracted by (D.A.R.P.A) . So to me in just a simple few clicks, or maybe a command and what is secure, is now not. Just IMO

If you want to have a secure email.. then look at setting up your own mail server...
it will be located on your computer, but i think you will generally have to keep your computer left on if you are going to be receiving emails that day, so that the server can catch the emails.

Try JAP for a proxy server, their servers are out of Germany, don't know if that helps for sure though. I don't see how any email can be secure, cause you might do everything you can for anomynity but when you send that message it goes to someone elses inbox. It confuses me, I would like to find a totally secure way.

i thought of a way to make a totally secure mail server... in a sense.
You can run Linux in your computers ram... and once the power is lost to the ram, so is all data.

so you keep it going for as long as you need the mail server and if you think your in trouble.. pull the plug.

ofcourse you have to be able to trust the person your sending to and noting that your ISP will be able to confirm the emails came from your account.
