Got fired today...

I have been working at this place for almost two years now. Good money, but I wasn't really happy. I have been interviewing for another job and I think they caught on to that. The owners son (who doesn't like me) had the IT manager monitor all of my emails. They basically fired me because I corrected the idiot on his grammar in an email and he got pissed. He is a 35 year old baby!!
I always get harassed for being gay at my office and I AM NOT EVEN GAY!! I just dress nicer and take care of myself. On top of that one of the manager dropped a really offensive anti-semitic comment in front of the whole company a few weeks ago. Nothing happened to him but they fire me over stupid crap like this. I could probably sue them if I really wanted to but thats not really my style. IDK
I hope this turns out to be a good thing for me. I should find out tomorrow if I got this other job or not.

See I could seriously screw them if I really wanted to.
1.) Sexual harassment even though i am not gay, but that doesn't give them a free card to call me a fag.
2.) Seriously offensive racial slander
3.) The company employs roughly close to 150-200 illegal immigrants. I don't want to use other peoples as pawns though.
4.) The company has fraudulently billed and collected from a customer (large home improvement store) for inventory they never shipped to them. Between 80-100K
5.) Aside form the anti-semitic slander the President has openly stated he will never hire a black person to any position other than manual labor.
These are just a few of the reasons that I wanted to leave but I didn't want get fired.....that just sucks.

I live in Texas and it is an "at will to work" state....or whatever they call it. So they can fire you for any reason.

Those people are criminals who are not contributing to our system yet benefiting from our social resources and putting an even heavier drain on our economy. Why would you even hesitate to report these 150-200 CRIMINALS?

Yeah, its like that here in Florida. They can fire you because they do not like the color of your eyes if they want to. Unfortunately, if you sued them for calling you names now, they would probably win simply because you filed after you were fired. If you were still working there and filed, you would have a better chance. Most companies simply claim you are a disgruntled employee making it difficult to prove a case.
It sucks, but good luck man.
For a company to really be liable, you must make a written claim complaining about the issue, and then prove on a second occasion that the company did not offer you a better work environment even after the complaint was handled. This way, the company will be responsible for continuing to employ a person that is known to do this rather than being completely in the dark. People say disgusting things to each other everyday and unless you complain at the moment it becomes almost acceptable in the eyes of the law.

Yup it does suck. I woke up today to find out they fired at least one of my other friends as well. I guess they waited until this morning to ax him. I haven't heard anything from the place I interviewed with yet but if I don't hear anything today then I don't think they will offer me the job.

On a serious note, well not THAT serious, what I did to a company I interned at in New York who verbally promised me a job but then backed out of hireing me was take the phone list of every one there and sign them up for every single disgusting and disturbing porno mag I could find on the internet. I would just click the bill me later button and ta da. The company is now loaded with perverts.

i would. as long as long as there a decent sized company then all you have to do is contact a attorney and they will probably settle to avoid lawyer fees. at least pick up the phone and just talk to a lawyer

I agree with not turning this into a big. It is a shame though. As well, these people who act like this, in reality, are living their life in 'a condition'. The condition of fear and inadequacy of themselves. This is why they treat other poorly.
It is saddening when people exist like that, rather than rise to a higher form of existence.
