You are gonna like road biking a lot better. I mt. biked for years, then one of my mom's friend's gave me a shitty road bike. She had been married 5 times and it belonged to her ex-husband, who left her for a dude. I ended up loving it. I bought a trek 5200 3 years ago. I'm gonna ride today, I ride a lot.

It's a better workout than mountain biking, cause the cadence and effort is much more steady. You can do it with groups and talk on more relaxed rides. The top speeds can be absoloutly scary. The amount of distance you cover is awesome, I'll probably ride to the beach today (35 miles away). Can be dangerous, be careful.

i think i am going to get a trek 2.1, i test rode it last night it was nice. i mt bike 3 or 4 times a week i live in a nice area for it. but i think that road biking would be more time efficent because i dont have to drive someplace to ride i can knock out a good workout in an hour to hour and a half.

For sure, after work if I go by myself I'll knock out 20 miles at right around 1 hour with some tough hills. I'll be pouring with sweat getting back. Get 2 water bottle cages, a underseat bag with a C02 cartidge and extra tube in it (had a frame pump like the co2 much better), get the clipless pedals and shoes for sure, cycle computer is really nice to have, and make sure you build a wardrobe of homosexual spanex to ride in.

2.1 is a good bike for the money, when I bought my bike I had already been riding for awhile and knew I wanted carbon fiber, I knew I was going to use it a lot.

I also want to use the bike for commuting. so I may not get the shoe and peddles. I have them on my mt bike and they are great. Ill prob end up getting them who knows.

I have a cervelo p2k triathlon bike. Great ride for a tri bike. I also have a specialized roubaix carbon fiber. what a great bike. it is soooo comfortable, very smooth. What is your budget? Carbon fiber is the way to go if you can afford it. really smooths out the ride.

Yeah, I got a great deal on the roubaix. 4000 dollar bike for 1700. The carbon fiber seat stays and fork will help with road vibration. Youll really like that bike. Have fun and be safe. If your city is anything like mine, it aint bike friendly.

I picked up the bike and shoes today its fitted and all dialed in. I love this bike more than my mt bike. It’s like a razor blade with a seat can’t wait to get out and ride tomorrow.

1 more thing, get a good floor pump with a preasure gauge...pump your tires up to near max everytime you go for a long ride. Your vales will be presta for the road bike, some pumps do both schrader and presta, but your mt. bike pump prob won't work.

I got some nice gay padded shorts yesterday. Went for a 1hr and 15min ride my but doesn’t hurt at all. I take back everything I said about bikers wearing all that gay crap. I am putting the racing seat back on my mt bike for sure.
