What's good for downloading music?
So I just got a new computer, 2,600 dollars for Dell's new XPS. I would like to get a good file sharing program that I can use to download music and porn, you know, the usual. The problem is on my old computer, I used Kaza, and limewire, both royally fvcked up my computer. The cable guy that hooked up my cable modem said that Kaza, Morpheus, and limewire would trash your computer, he recommended Bearshare, said it wouldn't harm your computer. Is this true? Does anyone know of some good programs for downloading music and video that won't mess up your computer? I don't mind paying a one time fee to get something good, just don't want to pay per month or per download.

I've used limewire and shareaza for years with no issues, I just run a firewall and virus protection and so far nothing evil has gotten through.

Limewire pro is good for music files, bad for porn. Child pornograghy circulating on peer to peer networks. Be cautious about downloading any porn on them file sharing programs.

anything free is eventually going to give you viruses man best you can do is scan each thing you download before you open it. and DO NOT download EXE files.

most bands or rather record companies and what not intentionally list/share files that have Trojans and what not in them to do harm, or slow down, and or cause havoc...
i keep an old computer that only runs the peer software for this purpose, and rebuild it with an image every few months..The answer to your every question

MP3 Torpedo is AWESOME, it's like a hacked limewire so all downloads are "turbocharged" and there is no copyright protection

be careful on torrentz too, especially for applications where you're hoping a keygen is being downloaded, more often than not they're trojans - having known a bell-end who done this, he used to steal PayPal information and e-mail logins.
But for music torrentz rock!

Bittorrent is the way to go. Just about anything you could ever want is there. I do have a question regarding movies downloaded with DRM protection. I have yet to find a way to get around this.

Hello again,
I've been told that FairUse4WM works, it presumes that it is a windows media file though, wont work with itunes i dont think:
Read about it:
http:**all-streaming-media.com/remove-DRM-protection/FairUse4WM-freeware-DRM-removal-Windows-software-Strip-copy-protection-from-WMV-ASF-WMA-Windows-Media-Player.htm
Download it:

[replace ** with //]
Best of luck, i had no issues with viruses from it - that is a link from the page, majority of links do not work hence i linked it for you

I get all my music from albumhunt.com or mininova.org. Albumhunt is fantastic.
