Mine's a pitbull. 6 years old now. I got him when I was in college when he was 6 weeks old. Best dog you could ever get. I don't care what people say, it's how you raise them. I had a house with 9 guys living there so he got socialized with people very early. and then i moved home where I had a little brother and sister 3 years old and 6 years old. So he got socialized with small children really early. (My little brother used to ride him around like a horse since he's decent size for a pitt. about 100lbs.) and we had 3 other dogs at home, so he's good with dogs too.

5 year old golden retriever and a 8 month old Chihuahua...
My golden is usually really friendly and a happy go lucky idiot kinda dog but when a female comes around in heat he becomes an asshole and he bulks up like he's juicing. We bread him with another golden and in the few months we had her around he became this huge brainless beast with an attitude. After she left he went back to normal and shrunk down.

and what makes you disagree... it's not an opinion it is a fact... pit bulls were bred to fight in the pits... the purpose of the dog was to fight and kill other animals and while doing so 3 people would be in the ring with them... the 2 handlers and a ref... through out the breeding of the dogs any dog that bit a person was put down on the spot... in a pit you can reach in between two fightiing pits and never worry about being bit(not that i condone fighting them.. it's bullshit) throughout this breeding and needing the dogs to be safe with people in the small underground areanas, they produced the most human submissive dog in the world bar none.. thats just fact... pits make horribl guard dogs because they are so uninclined to bite people... they make good watch dogs only because they look scary.. they are more likely to lick an intruder to death... and even the agressive ones dont bite unless they have too, they only corner the intruder and dont let him move... it's as instinctive to them not to bite a person as it is for a bloodhound to sniff things out.. besides that they love kids... and unlike shepards or labs or other breeds, they dont snap when kids get rough with them because they have such high pain tolerances... they love rough housing with kids... i have had every breed of dog you can imagine and none would i ever leave alone with the kids or strangers except my pits... 90% of the pitbull attacks you see in the news are not even pits as they lump them all topgether and call over 25 breeds of dogs a pit when it attachs so they can sell papers... besides that, there are over 5 times more pitbulls in this country than any other dog breed... 5 million or so... with that many, making it ther most popular breed in the country, the statistics drop ven further... making it only 1 in every 100,000 pits that actually are involve in attacks.... i wish people were that docile....

wow u couldnt b more wrong. I love pits and some friends do have them and they are great dogs. here are some stats:

Thought you would all find this interesting--the numbers represent five colums, Column 1 is Breed Attacks doing Bodily Harm, #2 is Child Victims, #3 is Adult Victims, #4 is Deaths and #5 is Maimings. (The # sign meant there were additional comments, I left the web address for this info down below if you want to read more, it is 7 pages worth of info) Additionally, this info is specific to dogs that were family pets.

but u also dont blame the breed, u blame the owners, no dought if a dog is raised right there is a slim to none chanch thatthey will bite. And that goes for every breed.

another person reading statistics by people that dont even know what a pit bull is... like i said, there are over 25 breeds of dogs that when they attack are called pit bulls... and any mix is a mutt and cant be concidered a pit bull so to chalk up numbers to pitbulls by a pit mix is wrong... so i'm sorry friend, but you couldn't be more wrong... those numbers come from people who couldn't id a pitbull if one licked them on the face... WHAT BIT YOU... A pit bull... i seen this with lamerican bulldogs, argentinian dogos, canary dogs, etc...

here, see if you can find the pitbull, and see all the breeds accusing pit bulls as the attackers by uneducated people... bet most of these breeds aint on your list, so when they attack, where do their numbers go? PIT BULL... my post is accurate... pits are not dangerous, the only danger is misleading media and misinformed people... and as for your numbers of popular breeds, they dont include pits... it's a fact THE PIT BULL IS THE MOST POPULUS BREED IN THE COUNTRY... they are the original dog of our country.. The American Pit Bull... none of those breeds numbers come close...

Go agead pick out the pit?

who said anything about lock jaw, and you made my point... the average person doesn't know what a pit bull is... thats why the numbers are so high in the pits column... anyone that knows anything about the breed knows the facts... it is the most human submissive dog on the planet.. PERIOD... its not a debate... they were bred for it... no one argues a beagle can sniff, why do they argue what a pit bull is made for?

why is it if they are so aggressive etc... that german shepards rotts and dobermans are used in military and police work? because those animals are bred human aggressive and pit bulls suck at it... only time you see a pit in police or military work is as a sniffer or a therapy dog... never used in aggressive natured jobs cause it goes against their instinct and they suck at it..

i had all these breeds, and i talk from experience... only the pits were trust worthy not to bite... and still is between my shepard lab(probably the most unstable) boston terrier and my pit... labs snap at people contantly, my shepards hate strangers even with me right there, my collies ALL HATED KIDS.... poodles are just evil bastards to anyone but the owner...

COME ON NOW!!! if those numbers aren't as biased and off key as possible i dont know what is... i dont know anyone that would jump in a yard with a strange shepard over a pit... comeone now... 20 times the number of a shepard... have you ever been around shepards? they are the snappiest most skiddish dogs out there... theses numbers coincide with exactly what i said about 25 breeds or more being called pitbulls... this is down right humorous..

and no other breed gets mistaken for a rott... far more dangerous then pits... cause thats what they were bred for and why they are used in military police work..
