Olympics
So how many of you think that olympic weight lifters use AAS on their way up to a meet, obviously giving enough time for it to clear, but to make better progress on the off-season?

We talking U.S. only? I think it's a pretty good assumption that a majority have used at some time. Didn't the whole Bulgarian(?, i know it was some country), weightlifting team, yes the whole team, got banned from the Olympics about a month ago for testing positive?

I have no doubt that many athletes in the olympics have done or tried a banned substance.

All of them! As 95% of all olympic athletes. Not necessarily steroids . They are a lot of illicit performance enhancing substances out there.

there is virtually no way to be competitive in the sprinting events w/o gear... even if you are really fast, there are people who aren't as fast naturally who use, that will force the naturally faster person to use, or he will loose...
all the bans around sprinting is pretty solid evidence...
and it pretty much goes w/o saying that a drug that helps w/ strength will be abused by lifters.. they all want to win and are looking for an edge.... a really strong natural will consider it b/c some will be pushing him that he may have more raw ability than, so he has to to win...Last edited by akaz13; 08-08-2008 at 02:25 PM.

I don’t think there is any steroid use in the Olympics, or professional wrestling.

are you serious? There have been over 50 positive tests between jan and june of 2008!
almost the whole Greek team tested positive at a national training camp in March and the Bulgarians as mentioned had the same thing in June. all of the positives are listed on the IWF website.
