How do you feel about your boss?
So how do you feel? Do you hate the bastard, or is he/she the best guy in the world? Are YOU the boss, are you benevolent master or a no bullshit tyrant? Discuss...

one rule i tried to follow was, lead by example. its the bosses that don't, that won't get respect from me. i ran a tight ship and my motto was.........follow me! but.....i've been looking at going back to work in a REAL job, and i hope i don't get a prick for a boss... god don't whip with a stick lol

Even if I didn't already know, I could guess you were former military. I think all bosses should lead by example. I read an article about a successful CEO and his philosophy for success came straight from his time as a Marine officer - "Officers eat last."
My boss is a short, overweight Japanese woman with thick glasses. She's super nice and very polite, plus she's one of the few department heads at my university who cares about the professors under her supervision.

I would think more of him if he truley gave a shit about us and gave us more personnel and better equipment and fought to get us more pay. this guy came to work in 1972 and still thinks we can opperate like they did back then. I dont hate him as a person but he needs to get the hell out of there, retire, and let us grow and excel as a dept.

How often has anyone heard the immortal line:
"Put yourself in my shoes. Make a managerial decision, what would you do if you were me?"

My Captain works with us and for us, he does a great job and our station runs smoothly.
Our Chief works for the city managers and against us, I'll let you guess what I think of the twerp.

I was at the bottom of the shit pole.
Hated it. Little part time student job.
But, boss loved me cuz I didn't complain or shit. I just did my job, then some.
People whine too ****ing much. Thats the problem.

my boss is just annoying. great guy outside of work, but ballbuster when we're there. i'm a personal trainer, so usually we just do our own thing and as long as you keep your numbers up, you're fine. our "head trainer" loves to make you do things purely for a personal power-trip for himself all the time, and it's just pathetic.
