coin collectiong or monteray metaly collecting. Anytime i get change now i put it away.
The current pennies are worth 2 cents.
http://www.coinflation.com/
Watch that site, why would you throw away something that posses value. Always use the paper when you can and save the coins.
I cant wait till Paulson and the treasury bring out the big guns it will be raining inflation. You might even see Bernanke out your window in his hellicopter making it rain dollars haha.
The fannie mae mess is about to loss massive inflation when more of these morgages reset and you can bet the government will bail them out and anyone with dollars will lose.
In fact the US government tries to cover the dust under the carpet so much we actually have laws prohibiting payment in a certain monetary unit such as the penny. You cant request a payment of debt in a specific monetary unit.
Anyways long and short, save the metals dump the paper.

Actually I used to collect bills not coins. Most that I inherited from my fathers journeys. I used to collect stamps. I was fortunate to travel a lot when I was younger so I got a lot of things....

nto really infact its an excellent way to save and protect your purchasing power.
Every time you get some change from the store just save it somewhere and some day that metal will be worth much more.
Can you imagine all those people with the old quarters from before 1976 that had silver they are worth around 3 $ now i heard.
I dont collect for the coin i collect for the monetary value of it.
I love going to coin shops i can feel the truth. Its the best feeling in the world. Just pick up these old coins and feel and play with them. They feel so heavy and full and solid. They are beautiful. You can tell these money had some value to them. Pick up these shitty coins today u can see how cheap they are. They dont even feel real anymore.
The reason why i say this is coin debasement is so old it goes back to the old empires and kings and queens. Back then they collected all the gold coins and told the people they needed a new currency. The the gov melted the coins down and put them back and put other metals into it and made a new alloy.
This is otherwise known as debasement but it is still the same. It is directly inflationary, and the government is creating inflation and or debasing the currency to pay off their debts and to spend more then they earn by not having to raise taxes.
Its the oldest trick in the book.
Things are much different today but the same principles apply today. Today the government can create money. This happens because the federal reserve has an open check book to purchase tresury securties from the treasury. The fed then loans these back to the government and banks at interest. Anyone with a brain can see the central bank makes perpetual interest off of nothing. Its an old dirty trick that goes back when king George of england created a central bank forcing their colonies to borrow all money from the bank of England at interest.
Infact a great portion of the unconstitutional income tax (direct ad unaportioned) goes down to pay the interest on the federal debt.
Anyways back on topic i enjoy this whole coin thing because it exposes the inflation in which the government tries to so desperately hide from the people and everyone.
This is why they keep using cheaper metals. The next move will be to use steel for coins. When that happens inflation is so alive the only thing that will end it will be its own creation.
Sadly as this may sound this may be a good thing. The only thing to put this country back to its old ways and the constituon is a hyper inflation resulting in a currency collapse and our end to the worlds reserve currency or the best would be a return to a sound money. This would keep the government incheck.
To all those who compalin about problems today with our government the simplest and best solution shall always be to not give the government a monoply on money creation. Aslong as the government has a monoply on money creation it will only get abused and the government can only get bigger. More welfare and more guns.

are you crazy keep those they are worth alot.
Its simple and every year they gain value.
it isnt because the coin is gaining value.
it is because the dollar is losing its purchasing value.
You need to see that thing as a chunk of silver. The more money the government creates the more dollars it takes to buy the same chunk of silver (debasement or inflation)
So hold onto those!
Silver and gold dont lose their purchasing power. Dollars do because the government keeps printing them!

the coin of 1890 that was true america.
We had a gold standard i beleive and it was one of our most prosperus times.
The 1923 is a good one also one decade after the federal reserve was created.

Thanks guys, they are in good condition. My late sister and I were given them by my parents for Christmas when we were kids. I subsequently wound up with both of them and have just held on to them for all these years, as I will likely do for many more years. Thanks fellas...Nitro
