    Sun Solaris 10?

    Solaris 10,

    Im thinking of installing it on a spare i have. I wanna see what i can make of it.

    Never touched it before, but im very curios as to what its like to use etc.

    Anyone any comments?

    i don't like it much... i haven't been impresses since 8...but if you have some unix knowledge you should be ok. I am assuming you have ran Solaris before...if not...you might have some adjusting ...lots of proprietory commands.

    It has a ton of proprietary crap in it. Linux is Sooo much easier to use and maintain. I was a certified Solaris admin once upon-a-time and I still didn't care for it. After working with Solaris for awhile, you'll really start to appreciate the streamlined simplicity of Linux. The 1st thing I used to do was install a BASH shell on it. That saved a considerable amount of frustration on my part.
