Im guessing its towards the right but I cant scroll towards the right. WTF? Steve Jobs is a vicious person....I attached a screen capture. Thanks

Just looks like iTunes screwed up. Possibly get it off your system and reload it. Other then that I don't know what to tell you. Mine fired up nice and easy when I did mine in December.
You get the new 3G model?

For those a tad disappointed, like me, in battery duration, I asked a colleague at work about battery sparing tips.
How to Increase Your iPhone 3G Battery Life
* Turn on 3G only when you need it. I found that having 3G turned OFF saved battery life (duh!). Using EDGE actually isn’t that painful
* Turn off Location Services.
* Turn off Auto-Brightness. Manually move the slider to 25% or 33% brightness.
* Turn off WiFi until you need a hotspot. The iPhone’s WiFi will automatically try connecting to SSIDs it detects.
* Turn off Push. Change your Fetch schedule to Manually.
* Set Auto-Lock to 1 minute.
* Turn off Bluetooth.
* Limit GPS use unless you really need it.
* Do a monthly battery calibration. According to the Apple website, you should be doing this periodically. Give your iPhone a full charge, then let the battery run out. Recharge.
o Usually with lithium-ion batteries this is not necessary as they maintain no “memory effect”…but it’s worth a shot.
Hope this helps!

Ok I was reading on how to get Firmware 2.1 as it explains here.
http://www.apple.com/iphone/softwareupdate/
Quite straight forward. But of course I have to register the product. Yet all it dowa is stays on this following pg, and saves a file on my desktop. This even after upgrading my iTunes 3 times.

Ok forget it it was screen resolution that was hiding the button on the right. Will test this new firmware.

What cases/screen guards do you guys use? I ordered the invisible shield for the screen but I'm looking for a thin yet protective case that can take a drop here and there as I'm pretty rough on my phones. Any thoughts?

^^^ Yeah Im looking for a thin, flimsy covering just enough to protect from scratches. The only ones I see are bulky looking and unattractive.
-
I have to agree with you guys.... I am currently using a silicon one those are pretty good since the yare the thinnest I have seen and they do protect from drops... best of all they dont break like the plastic covers.
I thought mine was the only one that crashed the apps after I would turn it off and on again.... since I DL firmwire 2.1 it hasnt done it so yeah..... it rocks now.
also I dont get the messed up text messages like before .....
one last thing is it me or did the spearker volume improved on 1 gen Iphones with this new 2.1 software?

I still feel the battery life is weak. I even turned off the 3G. If it would last me two full days Id be content but its last me over a day. I might try the battery calibration
