I have two who live around the block.

    I was kinda shocked.

Both were convicted for lewd and lucivious acts with a person under 14.

kinda find it odd that data like this is available to anyone, same as that site that puts up explicit info on woman who abort a pregnancy......

dont get me wrong, im not saying the former is wrong, i think its good to know. Also will make people who are thinking of comitting a crime to think again.....

As a father i would sleep easy at night knowing who my neighbors are, in the UK you really really have no idea who you live next to.
Coming from a small Welsh town i know the effect of a public backlash when info like this gets our on newcomers.... i miss that 'pitch fork wielding posse' security

Why? Crimes are a matter of public record. You can find them published in the back of most local news papers as well.

Thats a whole nother story. I have a serious issue with them publishing who gets arrested in the paper before they are convicted of the crime. It turns it into a guilty before proven guilty situation. Even if they are cleared of all charges in the eyes of the public they will never be looked at the same.
