Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed--just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn, even though the actual recipient deserved money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.

OR IS IT.........REDISTRIBUTION OF SOMEONE ELSE'S WEALTH IS A GREAT IDEA..............or just a fool's political game ??

i beleive in helping the needy.
but the wise thing u could've done is seperate the money into two halfs. give the server $5 and the homeless guy $5 and call it a day.

There is almost zero reason to ever be homeless. If you can find me a single homeless person who isn't addicted to drugs or alcohol, I will be impressed. There are so many jobs doing labour, might be crappy work but whatever. There's low income housing. There is absolutely zero excuse, those pople are addicts, and they do not want to change.

Of course there's exceptions, but not many.

Funny post. U might also like to add that under Obama, that bum will be allowed to go to the doctors office or hospital for frost bite, dehydration, malnutritition, head lice, colds, etc. Basically anything. Every day for any kind of ailment he has. And the rest of us get to pay for it

canada is alright. i do believe in social programs and assistance since im almost a certified social worker now. that being said i still find it amazing how americans get so bent out of shape over any form of government intervention.

I think you should all be very happy to know that a lot of your money goes overseas to help people that often don't have help themselves anymore because you do it for them, Well done.

Treehuggars around the world thank-you for giving money to keep them in jobs and you rarely need an independant body to look and see where it really goes or how much gets in the pockets of dishonest governments and people. (because if they told you that you might not give as much and to say anything against an aid group makes you a bad person!!!)

One of the worlds biggest cons, and it works because it makes you feel good giving and that it makes you a good person. from countries that culture is now one of take take take, again your money is being WELL USED....... OHHHH more money is needed, the UN says so!!!!

Just a thought from someone that has worked and lived in many of the poorest and conflicted countries around the world........
