Autotrader, Recycler has a lot of ads and postings from both private sellers and auctioneers.

Look at your citys auction for impounded cars. Most cars go for 200-3000.

I hate car sales people, sorry if any of you guys is.
They are just LIARS, and pathetic because you can catch them lying right away. and their game is freakin' absurd, they try hard to make a BS converstation to distract you keep smilling at u like he is ur brother and haven't seen u in years. and u kinda can read a virtual bubble over his head thinking to himself "wt should be my next line to keep the guy hypnotized until he signs the contract, while keeping a fake ass smile on" . God dammit i hate them.

I found a great deal on all my cars, I only buy with cash and never finance any of them.
This is what I tend to do.
I compile a list of dealers and used car companies. I go to kelly blue books page, i find the truck or car I am intrested in, tweek around the years, milage, damage if any or anything else I feel appropriate to get it to the price I want.
I print it, put it in a folder with my information. I drop it off in a folder to the companies and explain to them, this is what I want, and this is the price I'm willing to pay.
