My Max Payne review…
In short, it’s barely okay, with decent FX. It engages you throughout only because of the anticipatory hopefulness that it’ll fulfill its potential, which simply never happens. Every good way this film could have gone was almost conspicuously avoided, instead the beleaguered title character lumbers through the film searching for answers that though interesting, don't save this film.
No one wanted this movie to be great, or at least very good more than I, a la “Wanted” and “Hancock”, two films which did manage the latter. Nevertheless, anyone who sees this based on the trailer, and thereby under the auspices of a new TNT Classic, “Movie For Guys Who Like Movies” will be invariably disenchanted. Of course every feature has its moments, this one had too many obstacles to overcome namely a weak script, a suspect plot, subpar acting (excluding Mark), and only hints of what was alluded to by the trailer which is cropped with the very best FX it provided. Although other worldliness in itself is largely intriguing, a la "Constantine", which this reminds me a whole lot of in its monumenal failure to deliver, your hard earned cash would be much better spent on “Eagle Eye” or “Body of Lies”.
So as much it pains me to say this, "JUST PASS!"Master Pai Mei of the White Lotus Clan

It is ridiculous that someone, with your stature, would give a review that I couldn't not read without a dictionary. Didn't you relize before you posted such a monstrosity that you were on AR....As soon as I finish with sentence three I will have more to say....
Thanks for the heads up....Nice to hear from you as always...How's the film coming?

Any Movie with Mark Wahlberg I pretty much avoid anyway.

Harsh 10!
I actually suppress my vocabulary quite a bit here while trying to maintain my identity. Guess I should do so further though...thanks for the critique, er commentary, eh statement.

Sup Muscleman???
I beg to differ as I throughly enjoyed: The Happening; Shooter; We Own the Night; The Departed; Invincible; The Italian Job; The Perfect Storm; Three Kings; and Boogie Nights.
I think he's compiled quite an impressive resume!Master Pai Mei of the White Lotus Clan

Thats harsh! He was Marky Mark!! The funky bunch!! Good Vibrations!!
I watched Max Payne last weekend and i knew it would be a huge budget movie but i wasnt expecting much on the story or action, i personally loved the lighting and camera work on many scenes, so it was artistic the director is talented for sure.
However the story drags and there is a lack of action really, even the little action is too fast and too few moves to make it fun to watch. Another few hundred million wasted by hollywood.

My first 2 thoughts upon walking out of the cinema, having been a fan of the game for years.
1 Not enough bullet time, thats what made the game.
2 Where was all the internal monologue from Max?

Was an ok action movie, not that bad but not that good either.
I feel they could have done a lot better, and based the movie a bit more on the game.
Hitman was far better.

What magic said.
The trailer sold the movie, and will sell the soundtrack.
I won't even down load that movie when it's out.
