15 reasons why socialism sucks
# t’s a system of authoritarian political control
# It’s anti-freedom
# It’s one step away from communism
# Promotes laziness
# You own NOTHING while the government owns EVERYTHING
# It lets the government tell me what I can and can’t do with my money
# Destroys free markets
# It’s tyrannical
# It’s detrimental to individual liberty
# It gives losers/drug addicts/poor/homeless people a free pass
# Does not reward hard working individuals
# Does not define man as “created equally” but instead “deserves everything equally”
# Gives the common man no reason to excel, thrive, succeed at anything.
# Nazi Germany/Stalin/Ottoman Empire/China/North Korea/Cuba..need I say more?
# If it’s so great, why do Canadians, Cubans, and Europeans flock to America when they need immediate specialized health care? ….. Cause when they need help, they’re told to “Get in line!”
This ideology goes directly against what this country was originally founded upon and why we thrived faster than any country in the world in only 200 years. We are free, we take care of our own and we do it the way WE want to do it. We own guns, we keep our own money, we invest, hire, and spend, and ultimately grow exponentially. Capitalism is the greatest thing that could have happened to a young United States 200 years ago. It brought us to the status we have today in this world. A military and economic superpower
another:
Anytime you give to government the responsibility and authority to provide government-made jobs, old-age financial security, “free” health care, and “free” education and indoctrination of children, it will control the lives of the people who live under its jurisdiction, and individual liberty and freedom of choice are sacrificed.
Sure, security is important — but anyone can find security from a prison warden. But, despite socialist promises, bureaucratic programs of the political state cannot guarantee security anyway. Instead the socialist state uses its coercive powers to seize the wealth and properties of those who have earned financial security by their own hands. Socialism does not help poor people; rather, socialism makes people poor so that they have to become dependent on the socialist state and therefore beholden to those in charge of the government.
Socialism is the ultimate exploitative monopoly. No competitors (peaceful market alternatives) are allowed. All major industries, including food, banking, transportation, communication, health care, education, and insurance are owned and operated as state monopolies.

BTW, that was in Irwin, Pennsylvania. But now I can look my children in the eyes and tell them without a shred of doubt that they can be WHATEVER they want as long as they work hard!
Again, I don't expect anyone of you to understand the historical significance. But I also know none of you don't have to look into the eyes of black (or half black in my children's case) childrens face and explain how the world works. So with that said, I am full of pride tonight and I am greatful to all the Americans, black, white, hispanic, asian, polynesian, etc., for seeing past race and showing the world that this country is above scare tactics and ready for unity!

Are you kidding. Look at what Bush did. Now thats something to rub in someones face. People are comparing this time to the Great Depression. Amazing how they are still in denial. How someone could vote republican for a third time is amazing. McCain should of got 0% of the popular vote if anyone in this country watches even 30 seconds of the news once a month.

lol. Obama is going to totally change our government to socialism or communism. lol. lol. lol. lol. lol.
I guess it isn't too far fetched. Bush was working towards a dictatorship with one bill alone. The Patriot Act.

oh my god not the dreaded socialism. come on guys, a little government intervention isnt the end of the world. i believe in business and economic development, but damn, every now and then EVERYTHING needs some form of regulation.
im pleased that obama won. its not going to be nearly as dramatic as everyone makes it out to be, but im glad its him over mccain

No matter who one, he is walking into a disaster...there is a lot of loose ends and a huge mess to clean up. It's not an ideal way to go into a presidency, people are going to hate him, and some are going to love him. It's the way the everything works. We just need to deal with it and hope that our economy can recover and some changes get made in the way things have been done.

Yep, and January is a long way away. So if he gets offed before then, then does he technically count as the first black president if he never serves a day in office?
(And on a side note, I am sick alrady of people calling him the first "black" president. He is less than 10% black. If a guy ran for president and was 50% Japansese, 40.4% Mexican, and 9.6% Irish, would people keep calling him white? I don't get it)

how do u figure he's only 10% black? His father is a black African from Kenya, it doesn't get much blacker than that. Lets keep it real, the guy is black, just like tiger woods, derrick Jeter, etc.!
Both my parents are half white but when I walk into a room, I guarantee no one sees a half black man, they see a rather large BLACK MAN!!

Too many people believe only what they hear. Too many people believe in every internet article they read. Too many people buy into the propoganda that the media instigates. Your somment pretty much covered it.
Obama won, all your Republican asshats, you had your savior in Bush for 8 years and look what happened. Before you begin to judge or scrupulate Obama, give him his 4 years, and lets see what he can pull during his term in office.
