    Depressed

Just had to put my dog down. I raised her from a pup and spent a lot of time with her, she was like another one of my kids. I'm having a really had time dealing with it.

She was originally diagnosed with epilepsy and given meds to help, they seemed to help for a while but then her seizures got a lot worse. She was having one almost every hour. The Vet said that she had a more serious underlying problem causing the seizures. I know worse things can happen but this still sucks.

one of my first dogs had epilepsy, it got so bad that he would have a few seizures every day....vet ended up assuming he had brain cancer and i had to put him down. to this day nothing has bothered me as much as watching that dog die. simply awful.

sry to hear that dude, I have a dalmation and will have to deal with the same thing sometime soon. She's 11 years old and has a herniated disc in her spine and liver tumor but is on prendisone and a few other things is pretty happy for now. I thought I would have to put her down 6 months ago. It won't be much longer maybe 3-6 months max. Raised her from a pup as well, the thought of putting her down was so sad, but a dog should be happy. Once she isn't happy anymore I won't make her suffer. I'm sure you gave your dog a good life, good luck.

Sorry to hear that man, my old wiener dog had epilepsy aswell...It didn't come up very often but one time he got sick, we took him to the vet for an overight visit. They said he'd be fine and home in the morning, and he died overnight.

It's hard not having them around after your used to it, hope everything picks up.

    That's horrible dude.
I know a guy who had to put down his rot because it bit his kid. He drove the dog out to the woods, fed it like 12 cheeseburgers, then shot it in the head.
    Saddest shit ever.

It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do, still second guessing if it was the right thing to do. Can't stop seeing her eyes looking at me as it happened. Thanks for all the support and kind words.

It was the right thing to do, and yes, its a terrible feeling.
My dog was put to sleep not too long ago, and there was no way in hell I was going to be the one carrying my dog to his death. So a friend did it for me. Deep down, I knew it had to be done and was the best for the dog, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it myself...

Damn. Now I miss my dog, a lot. My thoughts go out to you and your family, dogs are very special creatures. They are always there for you. It will get better.
