    Forearm Pain

Going to the Doc today at 10 am, got a question. Would it be silly to ask for Cortisone Inj in my forearm flexors to relieve the curling pain I and so many others have?

Last year I had the same problem. Doctor told me that my biceps were too big for my forearms which lead to a terrible pull in the muscle. Could not touch a weight for 6 weeks. When you get back in action, start curling very very light. Fcuk it, if you have to curl 15lb DBs it worth it in the long run. I was an idiot and went right back to curling heavy and screwed it up again. The key to no pain is place the EZ bar down very very slowly after your set and slowly release it.

Another thing that worked for me when I had the pain- I would release my grip on the bar very slowly while at the same time bending my wrists back as if I was trying to touch my knuckles to the top of my forearm. Let that out slowly too. As far as the cortisone, I don't know.

i used to have really bad pains in my forearms as well. then i got sick and had to take a week off and when i got back to lifting they weren't hurting anymore. alot of it does have to do with how you hold the bar and the way you position your wrists.

i used to get that in the early days. you need time off. build up to it slowly. letting go slowing only stops pain being as bad. injury will still be there.
