yeah, I couldn't see an NFL star get 3 years. They always seem to get off the hook.
But I was watching espn, and they said he might be able to knock the felony down in what degree it is, but nearly impossible to get a misdemeanor. So some are projecting 2 years.

I am waiting till I hear all the facts. Why did he have a gun, where exactly did it go off.

I just don't think he is dumb enough to go out drink, dance and get drunk all while having a loaded gun in his pocket. Was he looking for some change and pulled the trigger instead? Must have been a Glock, those things have no real safety on them.

Why did he have a gun? Because people carry guns to defend themselves. Why is that so shocking? Unfortunately, in most states, you need to get "permission" from the state to be able to defend your life against criminals via a conceal&carry PERMIT. While it is unfortunate, those are the rules and we must all play by them. NYC is particularly infested with liberals who would like nothing more than to crucify a "rich" pro sports player.

I'm from Texas. I have a Springfield Armory 40cal XD (M) and a Springfield Armory 9mm sub-compact for carrying around. They are both registered and I have conceal carry license.

He has every right to defend himself but If he were properly trained he would never be in this situation and he would know that you never have a gun where alcohol is served. That's just asking for trouble.

I was looking for a reason to cut his ass from my FFB squad after a terrible season (he was my #2 WR pickup in my draft) and this was the last straw.

This incident will follow him forever, and I really think the Giants will release him before the end of the season.

Plaxico just took the idiot crown from TO.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid some pro athletes are!....If he was worried about his safety..then just hire an armed security/bodyguard ....he's gonna do time...NYC...tough gun laws..even if its self inflicted...3 1/2 years mandatory! For a loaded firearm.

Yes he is one dumb bastard.
This is one of my favorites though:
Adam Eaton stabs himself trying to open a DVD: In 2001, while using a pocket knife his grandfather gave him to open a package containing the DVDs of "Backdraft" and "Happy Gilmore," Eaton, then pitching for the Padres, stabbed himself in the abdomen, forcing him to miss his next start.

Apparently, he was being escorted to a VIP area, and the gun fell out of his sweatpants and when he tried to catch it, it went off and shot him in the leg

First off why is someone who just got an 11 million dollar signing bonus wearing sweat pants to a night club?

Second, have you ever put anything in the pocket of a pair of sweat pants? It always falls out.

    What a douche bag.

And Anthony Pierce is not out of the woods yet either. he may have been part of the cover up. I hear they tried to pay off the medical staff not to report it.

i'm a gun owner. some registered, some not. i have shown guns off to friends many times. if one went off accidently and i shot myself in the leg i sure as hell dont deserve to go to prison. i think you may find more to the story than meets the eye. dont forget we are going by what the media is telling us. remeber what the media has done for steroids. consider the source. i have a good friend on the jets. he has good friends on the giants. i'll go by what he tells me happened.

I have the same 40 cal... lil boxy.... anyway...agreed... never would have happened with proper training of any kind.

p.s. We don't register guns in texas. We fill out a criminal check and that's all...and those papers only last 2 months tops before they hit the trash. Gov't stays out of our business here
