what do u look 4 in a good sleeping mattress?
hey fellows, I realize lately some of body related pain (eg. backache, neckpain, muscle sprain) is mostly contributed due to bad sleeping mattress. I read somewhere else that having a good quality sleeping mattress may help in reducing such pains I described above. so my question to u fellows is: what do u look for in a good mattress?

It depends on your body type. I bought a soft pillowtop mattress a couple of years ago and I slept better on a harder mattress, so I had to buy a plywood board to put underneath it. I'd sleep on a couple of different types (friends, families, ect) so you know how you feel the next day. A mattress is pretty important...

Simmons beautyrest black. Go to a mattress shop and test them out and you'll simply laugh when someone mentions tempurpedics.
I could host a small dinner party on my 2/3s of the bed and not wake a girl up.

look for pocket springs and latex topper- 2 best support systems with natural breathability and also hypoallergenic so good for allergies (i know, i worked in bed sales for 2 and a half years!)

Agreed!. I've had one for 2.5 years and in retrospect would have happily paid 4x what I paid for it if I knew how good it would be.
I used to have problems with a stiff back and neck too in the morning. I have not had either in the last 2.5 years and my muscles also feel more recovered in the morning
fyi, if you don't have the money for a full tempurpedic mattress, you can get the memory foam toppers to go over your existing mattress. If you get anything in the 3-5 inch range and 4-5 lb density per squarefoot, they work just as well and are only around $200.Last edited by VeraDeMilo; 12-10-2008 at 02:30 PM.
