    I want an r1

    ...or something...but I've never ridden a sportsbike b4.....what would be a start?

But i want a kick ass bike - like the r1, r6, cbr or something

I am a patient learner and i know my limits, plus im'm not 20 anymore, so i'll survive the learning process

Buy a used 250 or 500 to learn on, one you won't cry over if you drop it.

yeah man go with somethin smaller first.... Me and one of my buddies use to ride together, he was experienced with atvs and dirtbikes and stuff and had driven mine a few times, but when he finally got his first bike he went strait to the r1 and killed himself within two weeks he was only 19. but if thats u in ur avy then ur alot bigger and maybe will control it better but still i tell everyone now dont get the r1 for ur first bike and be careful

so the r6 would be better?

it is easier to learn if the bike is smaller? but aren't smaller lighter ones more dangerous? i'm new to this, sorry for the stupid questions

I've been wanting to get one also. I live in MI and I can only really ride for about 5 months though

I was thinking of just picking up a 250 ninja to learn on. They are so cheap you can thrown them away when you are done. Get 70mpg too.

    250 is a moped, don't get one

r1 for first bike...depends on your personality. My first bike was a 1000 and I didn't crash it. You can shift in the low revs and never get into trouble, but if you're going to test the power before you know what you're doing...dead.

Think a 600 for starters then? I ride dirt bikes and quads, just nothing on the road.

yeah, that's a good place to start...they're nice and light so a little easier to handle at low speed then the liter bikes. Plenty fast, you won't get board but they don't make ridic power until you really rev them out, so less likely to get in trouble.

A 250 is forgiving of mistakes, but you'll outgrow it quick, and there's no debating Kratos, it's def a moped...

But it's forgiving nature is newbie-friendly. Starting small is nothing to be ashamed of, it shows you're smart. After a few months or seasons on a smaller bike you'll have beaten a large part of the learning curve. I was behind some douche who almost wiped out in a sweeping curve the other day because when he accelerated he freaked and backed off the throttle. Don't be that guy.

You would get killed on an R-1....if you have never rode before an R-6 would be pushing it as well.

hehe that stuff in Big's album is sweet. I am so jealous

i am dying to get a gsxr 1000 k1. Bikes are relatively cheap in US. In europe these stuff costs a fortune. For an old gsxr 1000 k1 we pay here about 7,800 us dollars. I seriously need to get me one of those and get myself killed on it while driving 190mph

got to be careful.. had several friends that didnt know there was a time and a place to get on it and they are no longer here..
chris, doing over 100 through traffic and a car made a right turn from the middle lane.clipped the rear and flew into a concrete pole..gone 21,just out of the navy.
dave was showing off, when the front end came down got a speed wobble drifted toward the side of the road, looked like he knew he was going down and was going for something soft, unfortunately there was a car that was broke down on the side of the road.. we got to him and he was already gone..
jacob,again..showing off for some girls at a red light..lost it and clipped the rear of a parked car.. he went down.. we ran up to him, he was going am i alright am i alright, we said yeah your gonna be fine..hang in there.. he didnt even know his right leg was 50 yards back..he bled out before help got there..
just a few of my experiences..

ya, I kind of want to live

I love myself, even if no one else does. I'd be sad if I died!

I would never get too crazy I don't feel, but one mistake, even if it's not yours and that could be all she wrote

I've owned an '01 R6, and '04 R1, and two 600RRs (an 04 and 05). I still have the 05 and its my favorite bike of them all. The liter bikes are too much for me and I've been riding for over 4 years. I've never tried the suzuki yet and that's the next one on my list to get.

Get a 600 class bike or lower, trust me a liter bike is way too much for a beginner. They are less forgiving and a lot harder to learn on. A 600 is pushing it but I know many people who had it as their first bike and did fine.

I crashed my first bike into the back of a car. Not fun. I never show off anymore. I never wheelie. Most guys that get hurt or killed were doing something stupid. Be careful and ride safe.
