Heater guys ?

The heater in my place doesn't seem to be really hot. It blows really hard but again not as hot as i think it should be. Side note: i am on the 2nd floor (if that matters) Is there anything i can check in the basement to ensure everything is working ?

I'm a home builder, but I'm not a HVAC contractor or anything.

The heat rise at your plenium of your furnace is normally quite hot, about 120 degree's or so.

But by the time the heated forced air runs through your duct work, it won't be much over 90 degrees and can vary on the length of the runs, type of duct work, where the duct work is ran and how it is insulated.

If it comes out with force, you probably have galvanized duct work, many new systems use runs of insulated flex duct, and the static pressure is higher, but the insulation maintains a higher temp of air.

Insulating duct work can help, if it's open in a unheated basment or ran through uninsulated exterior walls.

Because your vents are blowing out heat that is only about 90 degrees though, it takes a LOT more time and gas to heat a room up from 70 to 75 than it does from 40 to 65.

After reaching 68 degree's, to hit 75 it takes double the resource.
