My solution for January has always been go early.

I feel your pain as my alarm clock didn't go off and I'm going to be fighting the crowds tonight.

Otherwise I lift @ 5am, none of the "resolution" gym goers are there yet.

Consider it if you can bare waking at 4:30.

Otherwise you will have to work-in with this guy.

    Right on!

I used to get annoyed but there isn't a point in being pissy and immature about it.

Dude I broke up with my last girlfriend for farting in front of me.
    I'm totally serious.
It smelled really bad, and she just started laughing, and I thought to myself "I gotta get the **** outta this relationship."

DAMN IT!!! I was at the gym tonight and saw this guy doing an incredible new exercise. I saw him, started for my locker to get my phone so I could get a video of this ingenious movement, when he decided he had done enough and left. It was amazing. I think its called a "leg lift barbell press". Its a combination of a leg lift and a barbell bench press. AT THE SAME TIME!!

i tend to have bad neck posture that leads to problems sometimes. and i'm often wondering what i can do in the gym to strengthen my neck for that reason. there isnt really anything because it's more of a therapy exercise than a BB one.

but i dont think i could bring myself to the floor to use a leg extension machine for that

There is this one girl in my gym who does the most ridiculous exercises I've ever seen. Every exercise she does involves some form of elastic band or strange piece of equipment. And the funny thing is, she's been doing this for a while and she's still FAT and has made no physical improvements (not that I can see anyway).

The other day she wrapped her own rubber material (don't know what the hell it was, I'm assuming it was for grip) around the dip bars, and 3 reps in the rubber flung out from the dip bar and smacked her square in the face. Funniest thing I've ever seen. My mate and I were waiting for the dip bars so we were watching all this from only a few feet away. We were on the floor for about 5 minutes.

That is a real device from APT. Do i think its worth it ? Hell no. There is no reason , IMO to do direct neck work. Do your shrugs and deads and you'll be fine.

I think the perfect gym would allow all people to go train and goof off or whatever, however within that gym, maybe in a separate roon or basement there is a hardcore section, a place where you have to earn the right to go into, a place where people know what there doing and train hard..... that would be my dream gym

Nah, you don't mean that. A statement such as that one pretty much eliminates you from taking on any new hobby.

True. However, you have to conquer the baby pool before attempting to swim in the ocean.

Now that's unfortunate. You can't hold a grude against the masses based upon the behavior of one.

Lol, couldn't really get mad at my dad for the way i was raised, he's been paralyzed from the waist down since he was 18 so his view of the world is a little different then most and i personally like being thrown into situations and forced to make quick decisions or suffer the consequences, it creates a great learning curve for the way the world works

anyway, i better get to sleep, i start competitive piano prep again tomorrow for the first time in year and i'm gonna need all the rest i can get

Ive often thought if i could open a gym...a big gym...id want a section called (as cliche as it is) the dungeon or something...where u had all the leg equip and machines a hordcore would need and an insane free weight section ....(this next part is where its unrealistic) it wouldnt immediately be open to all..invite only after seeing guys workout etc...then they could sponsor new members into the dungeon ...Oh well ...*L*
