    iPhone owners

Has anyone had a problem with outgoing calls? My phone is stock so no jailbreak for me.

The problem is that I will dial a number and it will take a while for it to intiate dialing. Then it goes to the counter but I don't hear anything.... It looks like it is making a call but I don't hear anything. Am I doing somthing wrong? I think I have all the volume controls raised but who knows...

Everythihng else seems to work. I can text, email, and go online with the 3G but I can't make calls.

Have you reset the phone? Ear pieces in all phones are known to go dead at times. If that doesn't work try hooking your phone up to the computer and do a full restore. Make sure to backup everything beforehand. Good luck!

your phone might think the headphones are plugged in. Plug and unplug the headphones about 5 times, thats usually works for me.

Ya, I reset the phone... I checked the earpiece and it works because I can listen to my voice mails in it. I plugged in, unplugged my ear phones a few times and all that jazz...

How do I backup my contacts before a full restore?

Oh, and I even tried making a call with the headphones in the jack but couldn't hear anything in that as well.

My contacts are saved through gmail and outlook. Have you set yours up to link with anything yet?

ha... lovely ideas... Nah, I manually entered my contacts in and never put them in outlook. Frick... now I wish I kept that current.

Well I am going to see what happens tomorrow... if it still isn't working Im taking it to ATT and not leaving 'till they fix it or replace it.

I have had similar problems. I noticed that if I didn't hear anything happening, I would take the phone away from my ear a few inches then hold it back to my ear and it would start dialing. Not sure why it does it that way but as long as it dials out, I am good with it.

Have you dled the new patches through iTunes?

You can back up your contacts in there as well.

In the end there was a problem with my phone. Apple gave me a brand new one and it didn't cost me a penny. Their customer service was great too! I really would recomend them to anyone.
