Nintendo Wii as a present for my gf?

Haven't owned a game system since SNES.

Girlfriend's bday is coming up and I bought a Wii + the Wii Fit board for her.

Is this a good present? She's not a gamer and neither am I, and we get exercise by going to the gym, so I really don't think it's going to be a "hit".

Thoughts from anyone that owns one / likes it / thinks my gift is good or bad?

Thanks guys...Even if they aren't necessarily gamers? I don't know how often she is going to play it...Maybe once and then let it sit.

She has clothes in her closet with tags still on, so she has the type of personality that gets bored easily.

I don't want to spend all my time playing games, and it seems like a rather expensive toy. I'd rather buy her a hand bag or something that I know she'll use.

HELL YES it's a good present!!
I got my girl a wii and 5 games for Christmas and I have never seen as happy as she was opening that shit.
We play it constantly as it is fun as hell. Highly highly recommended.
Plus it's totally not a "gamer" kind of system, and while you do move around, it's not exactly exercise either.

Make sure she doesn't take it the wrong way that you bought her the Wii Fit.

Girls love the Wii. I came home one evening with it for her and she was thrilled. She seriously loves it. It sounds cheesy but it actually brought us even closer together. We can play a few races on Mario Kart and laugh and goof around like we would when I first met her a few years ago. She even has that Wii Fit thing too.

Get it. I got my girl one. She's not a gamer either, but she loves it.

Ok so I just got back from a friends place watching the Steelers / Chargers game and afterward me and a bunch of other bros played the Mario Olympics game.

I have to say it was fun as hell...I had never played a Wii in any social setting before other than jerking off in Best Buy, so it was really fun.

I'm keeping it, suggesting we keep it at my place since it's nicer and we do more with friends over.

Haha, I kind of feel bad giving her something I secretly now want for myself.
