i still want to see it in imax, because if the movie is bad, the imax experience usually makes it better.

"The Watchmen" is essentially above average cinematography and so-so special effects shrouded with some superficial moral ambiguity. Frankly, the themes explored by the film are far from unique or special. Think man vs. man, man vs. god, evil nature of man, ends vs. means, armageddon, a messiah sacrificing himself for the salvation of mankind, plus some standard hollywood cheap shots against conservative icons like Nixon and Reagan.
Maybe I'll watch this movie again with a chick or something once a DVD or R5 copy becomes available. It's an "action film" with hints of romance brainless chicks would enjoy. However, I'm really not sure if I could tolerate watching this again, so the chick better be spreading her legs by intermission.

not only did you watch his penis for a good part of the movie, it didn't stay still, it wiggled back and forth when he walked. His ass and body provided no comfort if you managed to keep your eyes off the prized.
He did put a cod peice on when fighting in nam. I think it was cause the censors didn't want to show the wang when he was 50 feet tall. It would have taken up a good part of the screen...gross

I liked the movie in a sense that it was complete, it followed the graphic novel almost perfectly. if you are expecting something like x-men or spiderman styling then it might not be your cup of tea. it focuses more on the story with splashes of action then on how bad ass the super heroes were.
Yea you had to see Dr. Manhattans Johnson though out but hey you got to see plenty of female action as well. on a side not in the graphic novels his little Manhattan made appearances as well so even that aspect followed the story line.

like you said there was plenty of female action, when that chick wore the yellow and black skin tight deal, it was like watching a porn. Just more eye candy, that's all the movie was.
There wasn't even any attempt to explain how the others got their super powers. Only blue penis man had a story to his powers.

I think it was a good movie....
Thank god tho that when Dr. Manhattan went gigantic he wore his man-thong. Don't know if i could handle that in IMAX.
and I kinda wish they went into more of what each persons superpowers were or hwo they got them.
Oh and roorschak and the comedian were badass man... especially the comedian in my opinion he messed up that Vietkong chick hahahaha

provided that ratings are all subjective, i thought it was better than 300 (300 had too much of a cheesy feeling for me) but not as good as sin city. all of the above are better than the spirit imo.
i never read the watchmen graphic novels so knew nothing about the story. re: explaining the super-hero abilities, i got the impression though, that besides dr. manhattan, the others weren't super-human superheroes. they were humans with incredibly honed abilities, but not mutants or something. everything they did could be explained with strength, agility and speed. they were masked humans with incredibly training.
