Gym prices???

Hi i was wondering how much the gyms cost where your from???

South uk they are bout 30-40gbp a month allthough there is one at 20gbp.

Manchester, my gf and i have just changed gym, we paid £1500 for 12 months.. Thats for the two of us..

I have a few memberships;

golds gym(very nice, cardio + tvs, freeweights SUCK..overcrowded always 550/year)

YMCA 30/month, nice pool but crappy weights again, more for older ppl.

My local gym, 75 a YEAR, badass everything.. all things like bench/power racks there are plenty of them(4 raw flat 4 power racks 4 smith machines and 4 squat racks. DBs go to 200lbs and from 120lbs and down their are at least two sets.. if not 3 for the stuff 50 and under. Cardio room is huge, guy isn't trying to get rich, but make peoples lives better. Very nice guy, all the other gym owners want to kill him!

No massage, free use of the sunbeds, 3 pools, massive weights room, free spinning classes, in fact theres just about everything you can think of but still dont think it worth it..

I pay $24 / year. A few years ago they had a deal where if you pre-pay for 3 years then its $24 / year for life after that.

One was $125 for a year and the other was $99 for a year.
Then there's another gym I can get into that I'm not a member of cause my buddy has a key, and I've also got a fake ID to get into the gym at the college down the street.

I like having options.

$32CDN per month. 50 treadmills 30 bikes 8 benches 6 squat racks... two floors pool, rock climbing shake bar i could go on. it was an old canadian tire store (like same size as a walmart...). i locked in at old prices, its like $40 a month now.

I have to buy 2 memberships.

1 is $40 a month. I work legs, back and calves there.

2 is $33 a month. It's 24 hours, so I go if my other gym closes (closed sunday and at 9pm).

$83 a month.

Both gyms have crappy treadmills. No suspension on them. The one is just dirty. But I kinda like that, I don't wipe off anything.

The 2nd is "orderly" and I get a lot of funny looks. everyone there is 140lbs and using an olypical. They have 8-45lb plates and I hog them.

I bet I have the worse gyms of any of you here.

Living in the sticks (10k) population is awful for finding a good gym.

Granted all the people are lazy, so it makes me look better!

I was using the gym at the college a while ago as i was enroled there but cant now.
That was £15 for students and £20 the lecturers!

It was a great gym with some heavy weights but when i first asked the instructer about it he said "i dont think this gym is for you its not a body building gym people come here for fun and fitness"

Who the lifts 80kg dumbell for fun and fitness in a college gym!!!

The guy was a twat hated me as i grew bigger then him in a few months and he had been working out his whole life!!! And if you said to him how much are you pressing at the moment he wuld go ape shit at you and threaten to kick you out!!!

His wife was bigger then him lol and looked more like a man!

only thing is the DB only go up to 120, and they have limited 45lbs plates they only have one squat rack, the cables are light , but i must say very clean, if you are a norm person that lifts norm weights then this is a good gym , if your looking for something a little more bodybuilder/powerlifter oriented try world, golds, powerhouse, Olympus.
