The GUY at the gym! Semi-rant
I'm in the middle of my workout. And I THROUGH myself into my workouts.
I'm sure you've all had experience with THE GUY who comes over when your at the end of a set and says something like....."hey, you know a really good exercise for "insert random bodypart that you are exercising" is "insert gimicky exercise."
DUDE.... do I look like i need your ****ing help?? Why are you bothering me while i'm crushing this routine?? I got a pump going here and your ****ing up my mojo with your stupid ass advice on how i should be doing tricep burnouts on a decline bench by doing really fast skull crushers to burnout and then superset it by immediatly pressing the weight till burnout.
This is why i'll never let myself carry a gun.
Maybe i'm being way too hard on this guy (and no i'm not on cycle). So lets take a poll and find out.
So how much do you hate this guy and his retarted ilk that are in every gym?!?!.....

if people are often giving you advice thats a real bad sign. i do remember when i first started out, a lot of people gave me some very good advice regarding form etc. so, no, i dont really mind at all.

Never happened to me before. Maybe it's because I look rather mean and unfriendly, or so I've been told. LOL.

I totally don't mind if i get good advice from people who are in the gym a lot. My problem is people interupting my workout to through some gimick at me because that see some guy working hard and want affirmation that they too are knowledgable in weight lifting. Like i said maybe i'm just a dick that why i made the poll.
Also part of the problem might be that i go to a preatty cheap gym, although it is very much adequate. Also i'm not exactly "starting out." Preatty well developed 5'9 187

I'm always listening. They really don't give advice as much as "have you ever tried this" kinda stuff. It doesn't bother me as i like to rest a little more between sets than i used to so i just let them talk. When i'm ready to go back to work i just walk away and it's all good.

i listen, but probably don't pay attention to it. some people who try to say things i can't take it because they'll be the same ones doing everything just to move big weight and no form.
so overall doesn't really bother me

Nobody bothers me thankfully, but there's plenty of people I'd like to say something to, like 'What the fuk is that?!' There are some stupid people in the gym

The only time I ever had something like that happen was once I had a guy tell me when I was doing incline dumbell presses that I had one side coming down lower than the other. I appreciated the criticism, but I can see how a guy interupting your workout can annoy you

Advice or tips are ok if it is legit and from someone knowledgable. When i first started lifting, i got some good advice that helped me. Now that ive been doing it for 8 years, i dont think i need that advice anymore.
One time i was doing biceps, and some dude who is probably 20lbs less than me, but 2-3 inches taller, with a bit of a beer gut, comes up and tells me im doing it wrong. I was like, no man, i think im doing it just fine.
Sometimes i see newbs in there doing something very wrong, and i want to go help them. But most people are not that responsive or accepting to help, and dont want to hear they are doing it wrong. And most of all, why would i want to help other people get strong, it makes me look a lot better if everyone is weaker...
