My Letter to Washington
Dear President Obama,
Thank you for helping my neighbors with their mortgage payments. You know the one's down the street who in the good times refinanced their house several times and bought SUV's, ATV's, RV"s, a pool, a big screen, two Wave Runners and a Harley. But I was wondering, since I am paying my mortgage and theirs, could you arrange for me to borrow the Harley now and then?
Captain ******
Austin, texas
P.S They also need help with their credit cards, when do you want me to start making those payments?
P.S.S. I almost forgot - they didn't file their income tax return this year.
Should I go ahead and file for them or will you be appointing them to cabinet posts?

I am by no means an Obama supporter but what do you think McCain and Palin would be doing different for the sake of argument?

I couldn't fix it. I think his plan as stated can work. It isn;t the only plan, but it will work. Problem is we americans can't agree to do something that isn't our idea or philospohy for no other reason than it isn't ours. Demofags won't do it the repuliking way no matter what, and well we repulikings are much to good to do it 'thier' way.

Of course I support Obama, because if he fails it would be terrible for America. I have voted Libertatrian for most of my life and the only person who I actually agree with most of the time is Ron Paul. But Obama is the one who has been given this mess and if he fails it would mean starvation in the streets. The Republican hands are dirty on this one when they allowed certain assets(debts) to stay off book when the standard accounting practices were being updated in 2004. These assets were heavily leveraged (reinsured, etc) on various types of, mostly American, debt. I wish the Republicans had been fiscally conservative, cutting debt and lowering taxes, but it simply isn't true. Me? I buy gold...

Both my son and I are heavily invested in those things as well. I think of them as hedge investments, just in case...

The only thing that is worse than what Obama is doing, is what McCain would be doing.

In all honesty, I like what he's doing.
I'd rather pay for the guy down the street to have a ATV and new car than build more sand huts in the desert.

My biggest grip is with military spending. I agree, we need to be able to protect ourselves. but our economy and people are more important than our miliary power. We are no longer in a cold war, no one else is stock piling nukes.
If we keep funding 698 billion a year on our military and our sand box expeditions, we won't have the money to properly repair our economy.
A good economy, CAN support a better military
The BEST military, CANNOT support an economy.
It sounds out of grasp, or un-thinkable. But if the USA economy really goes down that far, if we are poor and "starving" (so to speak) and we have the biggest baddest military...what does that lead to? It sounds far fetch, but so does invading a country against orders of the rest of the world.
