    car problem question

I have a Lincoln with a 3.9 V8. It started running ruff and the engine light came on. I checked the code and it was "misfire cylinder 6" So i changed all the plugs, put a new coil on 6 and had the computer reset. The car ran smoother and is getting better MPG. The car still has a slight miss to it. The light came back on and I'm getting the same code "miss fire cylinder 6". I don't know what else to change that would cause a misfire on the same cylinder

I would google it. Go to a ford/lincoln forum and check. Those cars have a lot of sensors so......

Most likely many have had the same problem and you should be able to find a solution pretty fast.

I would say your car has had to many cycle of deca which is causing it to misfire that happened to me once after a deca cycle the no hardon light came on and I kept misfiring..up the cars pct and give it a couple of weeks and the light should go off and the misfire should be back to normal...hope this helps.

Are you getting lose of power ? This is normally a good sign theres compression issues.

Not sure how handy you are but this can easily be checked with the correct tools.

i used to build motors so i can check the compression. Power isn't really down. But it has an occasional miss to it

Had a cadi that acted like that and it was an 02 sensor. Didn't throw a misfire code though.
